: Lotta great points here, let's tackle 'em one by one: 1) Base Skin Chromas I can see how in situations where a Champion doesn't have a lot of skins and their base is really good, this can be really high value, it's definitely something for us to consider and talk about with the team (we have an ASol main on the team who I'm sure will agree wholeheartedly with you on this case) 2) Older Chromas Naming This is certainly something we can think about fixing, but it would take a bit of work particularly with our Localization team. I'll have to chat with them and our Store team to make sure everyone's on the same page before we can make a change, which is exactly what I'll do =) 3) Loading Screen Chromas Indication I think this would be a great addition. We currently don't / aren't really able to change Loading Screen at the moment, as that is owned by another team, but it's something we can certainly talk to them about and see if we can figure something out TL;DR: There's a lotta cross-team chatting that needs to happen, so I'll get on that!

: Hi hi! We did try this going both ways in development! I understand that this doesn't necessarily follow conventional physics, but we are't planning on changing it back the other way. When you've got this as a still image, it's easy to tell what it is, but when you've got this in motion, it's a bit harder to tell what the object being thrown out is; this was the general consensus from internal playtests/gameplay feedback when he was early on in development and his VFX were WIP, which is why we landed on the bag facing the direction you're seeing it currently on PBE.

: I'm confused by the recall animation. Is it normal for Caitlyn to be "mean"? Is that her character? Isn't she an upstanding officer of the law? If those things are true, _why does she kick the crab?_ For me it was so jarring that it wasn't funny. If it was GP doing it, I'd have laughed. So the animation and action are funny to me. I wanted to point out the same thing, thanks! When I watched the recall it was all funny and silly until...she kicks the crab without reason? Fiora's recall has a completely different story, there the crab fights her and threatens her, it's antagonistic. In Cait's recall though, the crab fans her (although reluctantly). I was expecting her to PET the crab before parting ways, why would she kick it? ;_;

Hi! Thanks for looking into these runes, I'm a main jungler and support and i've always been a fan of the vision game and of these two runes in particular. But I want to share a concern about ghost poro: since the poro gives stats as long as it's not discovered by opponents, I fear this version will encourage players to put the poro into brushes that are less frequently used (the one next to the inner tower in bot and top lane comes to my mind), which would be kinda playing against it's value as a vision tool in favor of its value as a stat-granting tool. I'm aware this will definitely not be a game breaking thing, but do you think this could happen, and would you consider it a problem? as always, thanks for sharing and communicating with us :)

: Concepts are exactly that, and are never meant to be a 1:1 with what the final result is. The concept here was directional, not what the modeler was to go off of for the final product. This concept was specifically for getting a general direction for how the outfits could look and feel, and to give us a baseline of what cohesion would look like - it's what we showed to SSG to see if they liked the idea we wanted to take their skins in. We do need to simplify many concepts once we work on the model because the small details don't read properly from game height. That's the tricky part about showing concepts; there will almost always be bits and pieces you like from the concept that ultimately don't get used in game for one reason or another. ;-; For Ezreal's hair specifically, we saw a lot of overlap with Frosted Ezreal, another blue skin with light hair.
Hi Katey! I don't dislike Ez' dark hair, but It does look unusual for him and it took me a bit when watching the teaser to understand it was ezreal. Would it be possible to have at least *some* light/white in his hair, like a gradient, or a lighter streak?

: Thanks for your response! We're still looking at all the feedback so I can't say if we'll change anything specific, but it may not be too late. You are correct that the intended thematic is pretty far away from Blitzcrank's generally silly personality; this was a challenge the team wanted to tackle when wanting to deliver a really badass skin to Blitzcrank players. This ultimately ran into many challenges and resulted in us having to try to balance the levers available to us. The run specifically was really tricky because it inherently became apparent that the original 'floating' run animation we had once the model was completed instantly made him feel like a new champion. We tried a lot of variations to solve this issue but ultimately concluded that a floating blitz really made it hard to recognize him in playtests. We actually also tried adding legs, but those looked even more silly and awkward when we made them so we avoided that direction. Thanks for the feedback!

What would you say is the biggest challenge when designing and developing these two skins? Making a skin that has a very different tone than Blitz while still being recognizable as him? : Hey guys I'm an animator that worked on Lancer Rogue/Paragon Blitzcrank and wanted to give some additional insight into this topic. If you haven't already, check out the post Riot AdamUnicorn wrote (linked above!) about the new production process/philosophies we used while making these two skins. It's definitely worth a read! The main idea that informed our decision to keep a run animation similar to base Blitzcrank was gameplay readability. Very early on in development we had conversations about whether or not the run animation was something we could change. Blitzcrank as a character has some pretty iconic moments such as his silhouette, his run animation, and his hook ability and as the Nexus article discusses, we tried to focus and prioritize on what would made this Blitzcrank skin awesome (the hook) and all the other elements (skin design/effects/animation/etc) followed suit. All skins have multiple levers that artists can play around with to make a skin feel different but still the same champion (and every skin has varied success with this). Areas like Colors, Models, Textures, Animations, Spell Visuals, and Audio all work together to form the final product. If we think of a character’s readability as a bucket, each of these different factors contribute to filling that bucket. Changing too many things all at once results in the contents of the bucket to overflow, leading to recognizability issues. Changing one thing drastically means having to be conservative (make little to no changes) in other areas. In Lancer's case, because the changes to his model were SO extreme, in order to maintain his readability as Blitzcrank, it was critical that we keep his run animation. We initially tested some floating/flying animations but we quickly learned that any meaningfully different runs on Blitz immediately made him next to unreadable as Blitz. *TL:DR we thought about changing his run animation, but in order to sell the cool fantasy of this mech/warrior/lancer which required extensive silhouette and model changes, we couldn't also change the run animation.* *TL;DR TL;DR by redditor Kadexe: These skins look really different from standard Blitzcrank, and changing the walking animation would be going too far when you're already pushing it.*
Ok, so far this makes sense. Now, for these skins it's too late, but I'd like to point out something important. Blitzcrank is, by his very nature, a goofy character, not unlike mundo or gragas. His walking animation is one of the things that contribute to this. Now, these two skins are far from goofy, they're badass and serious (and honestly, they look awesome). What you are saying is that since Blitz' model changes so much, you had to keep his (goofy) walking animation to avoid making him unrecognizable, and that's fine. But to me the walking animation has two problems, and it not fitting the overall theme and tone of the skin is honestly the lesser one. The biggest problem to me is that those two models don't support Blitz' standard walking animation: they don't have legs, but rather jet turbines, and Blitz _walking_ on them just looks painfully ugly. Why did you not simply change the model and added legs back? The skins would still have a goofy walk that didn't fit the tone, but at least it would make sense... Hi katey! I fear this is very stupid feedback, but one thing bothers me to no end with this skin: when Rengar recalls and begins transforming, he stretches out his arms, then makes a 360° turn before completing the transformation. Why does he make that turn? Transformers often have the upper half turn when transforming, but that's because they need to be turned the other side in vehicle form, a complete, 360° turn just makes no sense. Told ya it's stupid feedback, feel free to ignore me, I'm not a rengar player and I probably won't buy the skin anyway xD
: No need to be sorry! We always appreciate any feedback, and who knows, it might end up changing what we do in the future! Skins themselves do sort of end up creating new universes for themselves, and we wouldn't want a Chroma to change that continuity (despite it not being canon). We want players to feel like, even if they are using a Chroma, that that Chroma still feels like its parent skin (even though my Battlecast Urgot is now [color], I feel like I'm still using Battlecast Urgot) I do understand the desire for a Pink Urgot (*cough Star Guardian cough*), but I think most would actually want a real Star Guardian Urgot to come out rather than something that sort of resembles that but isn't actually it. We wouldn't want players to feel like a Pink Urgot was made to be a substitute for that. Similarly, for Arcade Corki for example, pink is an understandable color you would find in an arcade game, so it still fits that sort of background that Arcade Corki has Feel free to keep it coming with the questions! Really, thanks for the feedback!
This reminds me of the concepts I put together with my wife for Star Guardian Urgot and his team, we really need to draw them :D I don't have much more to say honestly, in the end it's a business decision and I accept that (at least for now) that is Riot's policy about chromas. I definitely understand how it makes more sense for Arcade Corki to have a pink chroma rather than BC Urgot, but again, in the end it's a decision you as a company have to take :) As for the tone, I try to give constructive feedback, but since i'm not a native english speaker, I often struggle to explain myself and I fear that I sound way more rude than I'd like :( I know you are used to getting even very ~~aggressive~~ passionate feedback, but I don't see a reason to be one of _those_ users <3 On the other hand, when are you finally making some Iron Man/Warmachine/Iron Patriot chromas for Full Machine Viktor? Interesting. May I ask why? I mean, I see chromas as a way to further customize skins. Skins aren't canon and can change the look&feel of a champ (Battlecast urgot here is already an example, but think of arclicght yorick for example, or Marauder Ashe). To me chromas are for skins what skins are for champs, and so I don't see any problem with having a pink or very bright battlecast urgot (much like pink arcade corki), because it's still a choice by the player if he wants to buy and use it. Does it make sense? What are the reasons you chose to stick to "battlecast" colors with Urgot's chroma? I'm sorry if this sounds like criticism/whine, I'm really just curious ^^

: :c This is a hard answer to give because as a fellow support main I totally love having Aery around too. Unfortunately, we've found through testing that Aery is significantly more distracting for enemies and allies than similar keystones. In the past, she was given equal visual 'weight' in all of her states - her ready state, the active and the cooldown state (which is where she actually needs most of your attention). We want to give each rune the appropriate amount of gameplay visibility and even though having Aery float around all the time is satisfying (because I love herrrrr) it's actually not great for clarity - if she's around all the time in ready/active/cooldown it actually makes it harder to tell which state she's actually in for everyone who needs to play around that info. Adding to the problem, she also has more states than similar keystones like Comet. Thus, we made the call to have her be present for her most important states (active/coming home) and to act more like a buff for her ready state (which she kinda is because she is a rune, after all). We've found that this change makes her significantly easier to track and play around for both enemies and owners. PS I like to think that when Aery goes away she's actually returning into your heart though, where she came from. 💕
I haven't had the chance to try the new runes system out yet, bus is there no indicator whatsoever when Aery is ready to be cast? I can't seem to find any decent video either...
: This ping is expected depending on where you are playing from. The servers are located in North America. I am aware of some issues where ping occasionally spikes; we are looking into that.

: Thanks for the report! This is fine actually. Because we built a new PBE signup system from the ground up, it's not using any of the old account links from the prior system. So all eligible players can create one new PBE account if desired, even if they had a previous one.
So basically I can now have two accounts, my old PBE account and my regular EUW account (which I can now use to log into PBE)? Both my accounts have the same username and summoner name (i'm a programmer, i have no fantasy :P), is that a problem? The only difference is the password I use to log in... (this is my PBE account)

I think the circling effect around the trail makes the trail seem larger, and thus the whole skillshot. Not sure it's a problem, I'd maybe tone that effect down a bit, maybe by making the two circling lines even more transparent, or just tighter around the pink trail :)

: Hm. Basically: Upon completion of a round, we give you some amount of gold. Let's say for this round it's 100. You have the pickpocket mastery set. As a result, you gain 15 gold over the course of the round. When you complete the round, we only give you 85 gold. As a result, in total you'll still have earned exactly 100 gold. Does that make any more sense? Sorry, not sure how to word that better, hahah.
So basically, anything that gives you gold is useless since you can only earn a fixed amount of gold each round, and I guess you can not spend it during play right?
: It automatically moves items to certain slots when you buy them. Always have Zhonya's on 3? Want to always make sure pots are always on 2? You can set your preference in your item build and it will move it there, or to any other slot, when you buy it.

: Hey! She won't have new VO; that's something that's reserved for legendary and ultimate skins. So, for this skin, she's going to be using base quotes. The AA for Pentakill Kayle will be the same as base, as it currently stands. We've had internal discussions around it, and have read through feedback. I've also consulted several high elo Kayle players, play test folks. The consensus was that while it isn't great, but doesn't make the champion unplayable. If we were to make a new animation, we'd need a couple days to do it, run it through a playtest to make sure it felt okay. Changes are, it might not, so we'd need to adjust again. After, we need to re-export the animations and QA all animations on all skins to make sure we didn't break anything. Based on how long we have left to work on the skin, it's unlikely our team would be able to accommodate that. TL;DR, we wouldn't want to half ass it for the sake of calling it updated. It'd also feel pretty bad to take something from a legendary skin and toss it on to another skin. (It'd also require similar model adjustments, and similar QA work).
I'm not familiar with the problem with kayle's autos (I have Riot Kayle and Judgment, and always use the latter), but if base aa animation bears so much problem, would it make sense to update her base autoattack to match that of AWK? It would obviously be a lot of work, but... for better gameplay? Also, it would be good for the long term... ^^

I still need to figure out what his main reads are (except, in this case, for color), but I only understood that it's malzahar when I saw the voidlings I also feel his Q looks quite different than base, especially in regards to timing, but it might just be a wrong impression ^^ The ult looks awesome though :D

We've found that, although they look similar, the immediate counter-play thought that runs through an enemy's mind is the same whether they think it's a Ez Q or Brand Q--you gotta dodge the projectile. Brand's Q is also more round with an ember trail, while PFE's is more cone-shaped/cylindrical with an energy trail, which helps a bit (the color similarity is the main issue though and we recognize that). For these reasons, we're seeing less risk in keeping the particle as is, but we're still going through Gameplay, Playtest, and Esports to double-check our assumptions! It's definitely not falling off our radar. We've actually been running these skins through playtests for a few months now, and we've found that, although we've definitely deviated from Brand's typical silhouette in exchange for a more thematically interesting look, players were able to quickly understand that he's Brand when actually in game. He's really the only humanoid with fire-hands in our game so that helps with recognizability. ;) Because his silhouette is so simple, it also makes it very easy for minor deviations to cause immediate confusion. That being said, we'll keep a close eye on this issue and get input from various teams to make an informed decision about this. Maybe you could make the flames on his head higher/more visible, to make him more similar to the other skins? I also hat to look twice before understanding it's brand, but the hands gave that away, and I actually like this skin a lot (Mega Man fan here ^^), i have a lot more issues on Malzahar (but I'll write something in his topic) About his Q, maybe you could make it a warmer color, more purple/pink? I don't see much problem with the similarity to PFE Q, personally ^^

It feels like the most consistent feedback is centering on the R needing more oomph, especially in relation to the Q, and getting more creative use of his gun. I'm hearing some comments about his VO as well, so we'll see what we can tackle there as well with Localization requirements in mind. We'll bring this feedback to the team and see what makes sense to tackle with the time we got left, while considering how risky changes would be in terms of introducing bugs or negatively influencing gameplay. Glad it seems like there's a lot excitement for our tiny master of evil joining the Omega Squad! <3

: It can be if there is enough time/bandwidth permitting. The Chroma teams is small and scrappy, we have to prioritize wisely in order to get more quality Chromas with more skin variety to Players. To ensure the quality of each Chroma, we concept out the Chroma, make the textures, integrated to the game and QA for every change/Chroma color. This is when we make the tough call to make changes or not, because though we truly do want to seize the opportunity, it may mean we have to cut out certain Chroma sets. But don't be discouraged! We look at every feedback and take them with us along our journey with Chromas! We will definitely look more closely at details and provide variations for them. To be honest, we don't have much of a formula yet and we are discovering new ways to play around with the designs every single day :)

Hello! I really like this skin but I'll let the other users praise it, I wanted to comment on two abilities that are quite a bit different than what I expected: Q and R. For Q I was at least expecting him to shoot it from his gun, why did you chose to instead make the remote disappear and shoot the projectile from the hand? And his R... what is it supposed to be? Why is he putting away the gun and the remote and... poops out that blue thing? I'm sorry, but I really don't understand what it should represent (except some kind of energy) :/ ps: ok, i can't talk about this skin without saying how awesome his W and E are, gg! :D
: Hey PatMax and Paper! I agree that the bracelets and tattoos could have been changed--I think, in all honesty, it was just a missed opportunity from us. We do certainly want to make sure that the champions are still recognizable and embody the personas that they are meant to have originally. But for the portions you're referring to, there certainly was opportunity there to play around with them a little, and we missed them. For future Chromas, we'll try better to be more thorough on all the opportunities to make them even better! Thanks for your feedback!

Not much of a feedback here, but rather a question: I like these chromas a lot, can't wait for them to go on sale :D I especially like the experimentation you are doing e.g. with Graves' mankini or fiora's different bathsuit designs. I see you didn't touch her upper arm cuff\* and her tattoo. Is there a specific reason? It could be interesting to see variation on those too, maybe one chroma has an hibiscus tattooed on the leg, or a dolphin; or one chroma could no cuff. You *did* change Graves' necklace, and I guess the effort would be similar. Not saying you should do it, I'm just wondering why for some details you chose to change the design, and for others not. Is the cuff or the tattoo particulary important for the skin? Is it something that identifies the champion? \* not sure it's called like that in english, i'm blindly trusting google here ^^'
: Hi Paris! As always, thanks for popping in and leaving some feedback! <3 The bubble around an enemy was intended not to be yellow, as to avoid confusion with a Kayle ult! That said, I'm open to any ideas you may have on how to change things up, without obscuring gameplay. :) Since she's still a fish, we did want to maintain the watery aspect, and focused around adding some gold glitter bits to spells. For what the spell does, imo at least, the empowered AA shouldn't be too loud, as compared to something like her heal. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts! That's good feedback to note surrounding the ult. Having too much gold in a lane-wide wave would be a bit jarring, imo, but I'll talk to the team and see if there's something that could be done to spruce it up! WHICH BRINGS ME TO YOUR NEXT POI...holy shit, hahaha. Only slightly. ;) I'm glad you're in the right mindspace for this type of feedback. THE RECALL THO, RIGHT?! : Thanks for the suggestion! For more context, Riven and Yasuo are not the embodiment of Good or Evil, nor are they angel and demon: they're actually all-powerful harbingers of Order and Chaos. Also, as a heads-up, the teaser image was actually an old asset that was never meant to be shown, and the design has changed a bit since then!
I think the names are confusing: if they are centered around order/chaos, why call them dawn/night bringer? As pointed out, it has a lot of similarity with the cosmic skins (but these are another theme). I'd go with something simpler, clearer and more stupid, like Champion of Order Riven and Champion of Chaos Yasuo, or Exemplar, or Deva, even Angel

We are currently starting with supporting traditional events which are on for a short time frame and few missions, so you can't "decline" a mission as we would have no other mission to replace it. Also, we don't want you to have to spend tons of time deciding on which mission you should do, so we don't focus you to opt in to them. If a mission is active you can make progress on it. That being said we don't want you to feel like you have to grind out a mission. We want them to challenge your skills not how many games you can get through. I do love the idea of more variety in the type of missions we can support so that there are some awesome one for everyone. Oh, so missions here aren't intended like the daily missions on e.g. heartstone, but rather an in-client system to support events like the recent Singularity? (that's fine for me, I still wonder If I managed to unlock both summoner icons for Singularity, I only got one and I'm beginning to doubt I made both missions)

Thanks so much for the feedback, and I definitely understand what you're getting at here. Like you mentioned with your WK Tryndamere example, there are many older skins that just feel a little lacking in comparison to our newer skins, simply because back then we just weren't as good, didn't have as much resources, and our tooling wasn't as robust. We are definitely making efforts to revamp some old skins (like the recent Pulsefire Ezreal improvements), but with so many skins that fall into that category of old-and-needing-a-makeover, we have to make crucial decisions about how we allocate resources because taking work and time to change older skins means that we lose those resources for future skins and also run the risk of losing the vintage-cool factor that some players like. However, with all this said, everything you mentioned is definitely on our radar! There are no specific plans that I know of at the moment, but nothing is out of the question!
I'm going a bit off-topic here, but what if you re-priced some of the oldest skins from time to time? You already do this for champs, lowering the price on 1-2 older champs with each release, could it be an option to bring the price of older skins on-par with modern standards? (another question would be what to do with old low-tier skins for champs that got a VGU, Emerald Taric and Enchanted Galio for example pack tons of value in their low RP prices ;)) Thanks!
