: PBE Bugs & Feedback Thread: Sweetheart Rakan!
So here are my thoughts : * I see a lot of people asking for texture changes/color palette changes here and there , but the only necessary change I see is changing the upper part of the cape thingy to the same light purple/pinkish tone as the lower part. This would also make his hair color less noisy since currently the 2 bright white tones are too noisy collectively **"The color palette doesnt fit( to Xayah)"** Imo there is no reason why it shouldnt fit. Its a Valentines Day themed skin. A Sweet-Heart skin. He bascially has the color scheme of HS Quinns Valor and well, yeah you guessed it -> Rakan is a vastaya/half bird. The color scheme , especially the light purple emphasizes the "Prince Charming" design. **"He looks like a princess/feminine/gay/trans/(insert various homophobic slurs) etc."** So... you would think that if you played a champ a lot , you would do so, not only for pure gameplay reasons, but also because the design and personality of the character really grew to your heart. Thats why I find it rather sad to see that so many Rakan players dislike it. Rakan is a quirky eccentric guy who loves himself, especially his looks, almost as much as he loves Xayah (maybe even a lil more). This skin perfectly conveys that eccentric personality. It even has the perfect recall to match his character because Rakan is the type of guy who would wear this, look in the mirror and say "DAMN BOI LOOKING FINE TODAY!". Because HE IS that kind of charming but very cocky pretty-boi who is so full of himself that it annoys you to the void and back. Does this type of character feel the need to conform to norms and stereotypes ? Or is his self-esteem fully reliant on others passing him as "manly enough"? OH HECK TO THE NO. Rakan doesnt need you to tell him he's pretty. He doesnt need to have you think of him as a cool/strong/sexy/masculine(etc.) dude. Why? Because HE KNOWS IT FOR HIMSELF. And this ladies and gentlemen, is the reason why the skin is perfect for him. From the eccentric outfit choice, to the flashy bright color palette. It screams **RAKAN**. I mean of course you could dislike the skin line itself, or the skin may not be your cup of tea for various other aesthetic reasons , from color choice to sound effects etc. But saying that the skin _doesnt fit Rakan_ ( in correlation to the thematic fantasy that its trying to convey) would be simply wrong (IMO).

: What bothers me is that her skin doesn't match up with the likes of Kalista, Deathsworn Zed, Underworld Wukong, etc. She's just pale. Also, unlike the Soulstealer and other Deathsworn skins, she has very little maroon cloth. Most have some drapes or trousers of that color, but she has very little. You know they are just skins. So they are not forced to have a direct relation to the lore, even Harrowing skins. **Ravenborn Leblanc** is the best example for this and I keep bringing her up. She has 0 relations to Shadow Isles (atleast visually), but she is still representing a more dark and mysterious fantasy of LeBlanc. It wasnt a Rioter but I read a comment a few days ago, saying that the Kat skin could possibly represent something like a Banshee? Which is imo quite the nice idea. I mean spirits and other otherwordly beings can take more human forms (*cough* Evelynn). And to get back to the RB LB example : Harrowing skins dont automatically mean undead, pale zombie-spirit-something-thingy. I mean look at Officer Vi (spooooooooooooooooooky) If its the inconsistency of the "skin theme" : Well, do **Underworld Twisted Fate** and **Underworld Wukong** look alike? :)
: Not a fan of the update that removed the 'character inking' from Kat's model. Every other character or skin (minus Kayn, I think) has it and now this skin will look very out of place when next to anything else. Explanation? To make her hair look more natural? If so, well, that came at the expense of the rest of the model, IMO. Also, a bit pointless when there's an option to turn off the inking in settings regardless if people prefer it that way. -edit. Yeah, just played a bit with the new update. Unfortunately, this went from a first day buy (even if it wasn't perfect) to a skip. Really dislike the lack of inking.
Yeah the inking was removed to make the hair look less clunky due to the hard edges created by the contouring of her hair which partly consits of VFX. Helps to make the flowing animation look more fluid and natural, since its the main focus of the skin I dont think that it comes at expense of the rest.

: Overall the skin looks nice. My only issue is that it doesn't really 'scream' Halloween or Harrowing to me. It's not bad, but it seems like it could be released any time of the year and wouldn't seem out of place, or like it could be part of the super galaxy or neon strike line. My suggestion is for the ult, it would be cool if the ghostly spirits that zed has with his animations in his skin could come out of her ult area? Not sure if that is possible at all, but I definitely think it would tie it together with this time of year a little more.

: The new hair animations look great while Katarina is moving around, but it looks weird when she is standing still (it keeps floating in an unnatural way). Overall, it is a great skin, but I agree with what others have already said: the VFX is lacking spookiness (especially the ultimate). That recall tho, probably her best one to date.

: I sure hope you guys also look into Reddit posts and concerns about this skin. I haven't seen nearly any positive feedback about this skin, or the other two. I personally think the only people pleased with this skin are the ones who want another katarina skin and don't want to lose the opportunity for her to get a new skin, when the problem isn't her getting a skin it's the quality:value of the skin. It's not a 1350 skin imo. I also don't believe it's remotely good. I like katarina, I'd be cool with a new Kat skin, but I don't believe it's worth the price point and I don't believe it's right to say it's great just because you want to please the people who worked on it or Rioters. It's Sewn Chaos Blitzcrank and Amumu to me. Lacks creativity and effort. And the thing is if it did take a lot of effort and sweat and tears it does not show. But I'm not giving a flowery sweet "I love everything you guys do!!!" Type of response so I am prepared for the downvotes into oblivion.
This skin is work and progress. Sewn Chaos skins were scrapped when they were already in their final state. They got tons of texture changes, QoL vfx updates and even a splash. So dont judge an unfinished skin on its first day on the PBE. Give constructive criticism and make valuable points about how and why the skin can be improved.
: Just messed around with the skin a little bit. Love, love, love the colours - especially the hair! It could do with a bit of translucence though. What needs improvement? The SFX and voice filter. The SFX are very skimpy and are mostly overpowered by the default sounds playing beneath them, minus the ult. So, either expand on the actual sounds (more elaborate) or turn up their volume. The voice filter is either buggy or barely there from what I can hear. A few lines I can almost make it out, but not quite, so it would be nice if it could be improved, as in, more of a distorted, ghostly voice.
Im actually happy that the voice filter is pretty "light". Wouldnt like a super deep ghostly voice

I mean heck, we took away Caitlyn's hat in her Pulsefire skin! :o > smoothness of hair animation. i know kata has an quite ancient hair rig. resulting that her hair movement feels clunky in some animations (like while AAíng and E). with a bit of work put into it it could look sooo amazing I know we've got some challenges with the hair, as it's using alphas, versus the straight up model and texture that she normally has. I can sync up with the animator and see if/what we could do to soften the hair movements. > details to grounded dagger field and R indicator. A nice addition would be adding some more details to grounded daggers and around kat when she is ulting. A thing you could do is add some of the spell circles similar to those in viktors skin beneath/around the dagger and under Katarina when is in her R. I've tossed this feedback to the VFX artist! He's still hammering away at some skills and some odds and ends, so he'll keep this feedback in mind as he finishes her up (should be by the end of the week to have only polish remaining!) > some color tweaks to all the armor pieces. especially the chest and hip pieces -> unify the colors of all pieces so that you have the dark shiny armor as contrast to the bright glowing hair Our modeler put in some minor tweaks today, that should be on PBE tomorrow. I'm not sure if it'll solve all of what you're looking for, but take a look and lemme know!
I just spend an hour ingame with the skin and I still love it :D And yeah all the things noticed are just small improvement to raise the overall quality, so that alot of players will love it as much! @KATEY! Aside from preferences about visuals this one is actually **Gameplay relevant!** So in every skin , even base, there is a visual indicator when the dagger on the ground is running out! It either gets blurry, or there are sparks etc but there are vfx that shows you that the dagger is about to expire! DS Kat doesnt have that! It simply dissappears without any vfx
: this skin needs to be 520 I would love to just crack down and write up a paragraph after paragraph of how pissed and disappointing in this years skin choices AND designs but I wont. Just going to suggest that you adjust the price to reflect the actual amount of work,thought, passion and effort you put into them (or however much your beancounters allowed you too).

Im also a Kat main and I own all her skins and let me tell you : You cant compare or even say that they look "better" or worse. Why? Because they different! Kat´s skin all share the same core design. With the only exceptions, the ones that actually look unique, being Sandstorm, Project and this one. They are trying something different. Different approach at her hair. Different color palette. Its DIFFERENT aka not "worse/better than skin x". Because if you are an old champ like Kata and have that many skins , you need to have unique different pieces that stand out ! BUT I will agree with you on the animation part (and also the part that she deserves a legendary :P) , you can really tell how the animated hair suffers from kats really old model and rig. But thats something that can be fixed/smoothened out

Healthy? She doesnt have to look like a Zombie to be a Harrowing skin. A more elegant and mystique look is also possible , look at Ravenborn Leblanc. Also Kat would normally have her scar but her left eye is entirely covered by her hair in this skin

And OMG that Armored arm makes me drool! also the boots! Kinda sad the other arm is plain but I guess the glow makes up for that! + the asymmetrical design fits her character . also love the neck piece with the gem! * Glowing swords! Well there is a reason why his E channel cant be interrupted. Camille and Galio E are very different regarding their functionality. If Galio could flash while E animation, the cc immunity should be removed as trade-off
: I feel like the change has made Anivia more binary, and she just feel ... different... now. During the mage update half year ago, I remember the reason why Riot wanted to change Anivia's R and Q is to make her waveclear less reliable and force her to interact with enemy champion more in lane. The changes currenlty on PBE basically encourage the opposite, as her R becomes a better waveclear tool, and her laning damage and reliablility weakened.

It is because her hair is rigged/animated for her movement/W + R spinning Also Riot really cares about recognition value - champs have certain "core design" elements. Without them they just dont look like the champ anymore. For Kata it is the long wavy hair + blades

How do they look similar to you? Kata has much darker armor + mask as Fiora. Also Fiora has more pink+yellow particles while Kat´s are all magenta

First of all, awesome job! the skin looks fantastic but the real reason I'm here is I was wondering if there was a way to bring a range indicator similar to that to all of Kat's skins and her classic? Her current particles are beyond tiny and so hard to see when they are moving so fast that it's hard to judge where I am to be standing to keep from getting hit, especially in hectic scenarios. I've been asking around for years but I guess never around the proper channels. Either way, keep up the good work and have a nice day! Sincerely, Rai.

All of the Project skins have white hair + it looks great! Also Mercenary Kat´s hair is more light blue-ish than white.
: I love all the effects on her abilities but her right arm just looks bad. I know its supposed to look cyborg-ish with the pivot joint but it just looks really strange and disconnected also the fin sticking out isn't helping it look any better. Other than that I really like the skin and definitely excited for it!
Her right arm looks weird due to her rig/model. Her VU was in 2012, so ofc its "a bit" outdated here and there. But thats not the fault of the skin.

: Blades? That's all it takes for you to like a design is a cool weapon? No wonder we can't have nice things, you're amazed by a glowing knife and fail to see the rest of the model is as exciting as a grey painted potato.
For me the blades are the most noticable feature of the skin because of their vibrant color. But I also love the rest of the skin. The outfit + hair design is imo flawless. You dont need to buy the skin if u dont like it. "We cant have nice things" = Things YOU like? People have different tastes, deal with it.

So here are all my short feedbacks about this skin: ----------- When Katarina uses her Q, I think that the mark on top of the enemy is hardly seen, this might effect gameplay. How about making the dagger a little bit solid like her other skins instead of translucent shape of a dagger? Don't know if the sound of her auto attack isnt added yet or its there already, but I think that her AA sound is too similar to her classic. When she recalls, she 'blinks' around the area and finally poses after her 4th blink. From facing the left, blinks to a blackflip, blinks to face the right, and then she blinks to this weird pose. http://imgur.com/XCh08vb.png?noredirrect In my opinion, this pose is VERY awkward and I think you should make Katarina bend down to the ground like her splash art, and make her pose like that instead. Project skins are one of , if not, the best skins line in LOL and gj for the new additions esp project ashe but i just noticed you mentioned above that this skin including ekko's should have spawn/respawn animations but as ive seen in the pbe there are no animations for both ekko and kat. Idk if its intentional or it wasnt hooked up in todays update? anyways gj skins team! have a nice day :D
Its only for the initial spawn = starting of the game. All Project skins have that.
: Back for more Kat skins! Her chest looks weird because of how...outward it goes (really noticeable on 1 & 2 in the first picture, though I guess that's a model problem that can't be changed). Changing the color there or making her jacket larger to cover it would help there. Her lower body could also use brighter colors like her top, more flairs of white/pink. Her right arm, as said by Stoned Puppy, just looks ridiculous when you look at it with the pivot, and the fins on it jut out really weird at some angles. Her arms themselves just feel a bit frail, the fins do help but the placement makes the areas without them look even thinner. Particle wise though, amazing! I think darkening the Q and W + sharpening the audio would help it a bunch too. The recall is to die for and amazing {{item:3070}} Thanks so much for making the new skin! Sorry for the long list...I want one of my favs to be fully fleshed out and pretty in her new skin :D
Things points u mentioned concerning her chest and arms are model/rig problems. since its only a 1350 skin and not legendary, they are working with the rig. Her lower body looks a bit dark BUT only from the front. You will see this skin from the back/side most of the time. And she has those bright,vibrant dagger on her legs that u cant directly see from the front. Agreed, the recall is beyond awesome <3
: Hey there! First of all, I want to thank you all for the hard work the team puts into this, and for giving us the opportunity to submit feedback about the work you guys create. I am a big fan of the 'PROJECT' skin line and I'm really excited that Katarina got included this year. My main concern about PROJECT: Katarina, however, is her splash art. Out of the new PROJECT skins, I feel like Katarina's is the least appealing. To me it just feels bland. For example, let's have a look at Ekko's. When I see his splash art, I get this feeling of someone who moves fast. His facial expressions give off his personality. His time-traveling ability is shown with his aftermath in the back. And he is destroying things. Things that Ekko does, all in search for freedom. Let's take a different example and look at Ashe's. Ashe, unlike Ekko, isn't shown doing much action, however, I can feel an Ashe-vibe from it. Who is Ashe? A leader. Her pose. The way she stands. They give me a strong, goal-centered, and courageous vibe. She's someone who communicates with her allies. She's there to unify, to lead, to succeed. Now let's look at Katarina's. What is she doing? She's just... there... with her friend Zed in the back doing... nothing. She isn't doing Katarina things. Where is her 'Ambition'? What can she do thanks to her augments? What is she searching for? What is her goal? I don't know if comparing to the past is frowned upon or just something I shouldn't do, but every single other PROJECT splash art shows at least one thing that represents that specific champion, and unfortunately I just don't get that from the PROJECT: Katarina splash. I really appreciate that you guys took the time to read this, and I would love to know what you guys think. Thank you!
In her splash Katarina is in a fighting scene. She is dodging Ashe´s arrows. In Ashe´s splash u can see that she is communicating with Ekko , who hunts Zed , while hunting after Katarina.
: Thanks Riot for making a 1350RP Skin for Katarina. But i'm a little bit disappointed. When i saw the Blue/Magenta and purple in the middle of the teaser, I tought she would had the both colors or the color would've been purple. - I think she needs a new particle for her movement speed that W gives her, like other skins; - A new idle; - A new hair style too, she has 8 skins with the same style; - Her W is too transparent; I loved the recall (for me was the best part of the skin), splash art and the effects of her Shunpo. I really liked the skin, but she could've been a better skin for the price of 1350RP. It's good, but could've been perfect. Hoping that she will have differente load screen and icons like the others PROJECT skins.
Neither Slaybelle nor Warring Kingdoms have custom particles for the W movement speed bonus , but since its a 1350 skin I wouldnt mind to see some added. But its not rly necessarily since its only a 1sec ms boost

I must say** I LOVE THIS SKIN **<3 I´ve waited for a higher-tier-skin (1350+) for Kat for sooo long <3 Its great , but not "perfect" , but of course it doesnt have to be cause I will buy it anyways ( since its for KATARINA <3 ) So a few points that **u may take a look at ** : * **Voice Processing** : Her voice is kinda low-pitched. Would have expected it to be more high-pitched. Like Fiora´s * **W particles** : Actually the only thing that I kiinda dislike because the particles are way too transparent (if u compare it to Katarina´s classic particles). Would love if it was darker/more vibrant like ..smth between the Q and E color * **Her E SFX **: Is IMO way too loud. Its much louder than her other abilities. (You COULD consider this as a tiiiny nerf, since a louder sfx is much more alarming to the opponents and therefore they can react faster/better to Katarina´s engage - in theory). So pls consider lowering the loudness. * **Grievious Wounds VFX **: Would you consider adding a new GW vfx , like you did for Arcade Miss Fortune (when MF still had GW on her old W) ? Kat doesnt have much particles in the first place so pls do that *-* What **I love** about the skin : * **The design** : GREAT JOB! Tbh when I saw the silhouette teaser I thought that it looked kinda boring since she had the long hair (again) + the short jacket she is also using in her classic. BUT : You completely surprised me with a fantastic futuristic design AARGH Im so in love with it. And even if she has long hair again , its still a different hairstyle compared to her classic so thanks for that :P 10/10 for the blades, those are masterworks! + the color is perfect (even I wouldnt have mind a change in color, I can totally see a blue/purple themed Kat skin someday, would look great) * **Particles + Sfx** : Since its a 1350 skin its only normal that it has new particles + sfx , but I still love the great change * **Recall** : Katarina has BY FAR the best recall among the PROJECT skins, thanks for that awesome work. * **Splash **: The final splash turned out to be absolutely gorgeus! Perfectly fitting dynamic pose for Katarina *-* Final questions : * Who created the splash? Artist name? * Who did the design/concept? Is there official concept art available that they can share? * Who animated the recall?
: Hi! Really cool skin but I feel like the particles should be smoothed out a bit to fit her assassin playstyle. Also I really don't like the white hair, I feel like it doesn't suit her character theme at all. I think a nice **raven black **colour would do really well for her. It will match with her outfit and feel like an assassin. The white just stands out completely and doesn't suit with her outfit.

: **I find this skin disappointing.** I love everything about Katarina as a champion, I also own every skin but 2. The thing about Katarina is that her skills are not particle heavy, so if you want to make a good skin for her, it should be visually interesting. Lets take a look at her 2 skins that are my favorite, Slay Belle Katarina and Kitty Cat Katarina, neither of them has amazing particle effects but both costume designs are awesome, that's what makes these skins interesting and fun to play with. PROJECT: Katarina is visually disappointing, there is nothing about her design that pops, it looks very bland and seems like a low tier version of PROJECT: Fiora. I honestly don't care about the particles on a Katarina skin because that's not the main element of what makes a good skin for her. I don't understand why she was a candidate for a PROJECT skin in the first place, PROJECT skins are visually interesting because of their unique particles, meanwhile Kat uses less particles than pre rework Taric. Like I said, 'particles' are the last thing I think of when talking about a Katarina skin and it's definitely not enough to get me invested in a skin that looks so generic. These are my thought, I had to share them since I love Kat so much. Kinda sad that now I have to wait even longer in hopes of the next Kat skin being better.

: 1. What I like: Her Q damage after it kills the first target; it makes it very rewarding to position it right. The fact that she is realy good in trading (with the new love tap), you auto attack once and peace out (by using w/e if needed). Her ult damage is steady and gives her a long range damage output (very nice with a wombo combo). Her w is still the same but it's doing its work and makes kiting short rangers easier. The fact that her strut became a skill passive is also very nice since it gives space for a better normal passive. Miss Fortune is a good lane bully. 2. Things I think has to be looked at: With Miss Fortune you have to do well in lane, otherwise your team will have a pretty hard time with the rest of the game. She falls of quickly after laning phase (maybe too quickly). Her w active does not feel significant. Outside of lane she doesn't deal much damage (her second Q-proc won't be able to get pulled of a lot and her e/w doesn't do a lot in teamfights) My opinion is to give Miss Fortune something (besides her ultimate) something that makes her mid/late a little bit more strenght and to make her stand out from other adc's outside of lane in her own way
Actually she scales pretty well into lategame since her ult dmg is increasing drastically! Since Love Tap also procs on towers now , MF is also quite good at taking down towers ( your W active is also imporant here since you can switch attacks between turret and minions constantly to keep the W active AND constantly procing Love Tap on the tower ). Her E is acutally bringing alot of utility in team fights , since it can provide vision or aoe slow ( also key to set up your R ). > My opinion is to give Miss Fortune something (besides her ultimate) something that makes her mid/late a little bit more strenght and to make her stand out from other adc's outside of lane in her own way Well the answer is "Love Tap". : My Opinion on Miss Fortunes new skills and stats purely based off of my knowledge of her changes in the past 3 years due to maining her since season 1. _**Love tap**_ is a wonderful new skill it just lacks presence while it will work well in the early game when everyone is in lane and their are not only two champions to hit their are lots of minions to hit. Unfotunitly once the game reaches lategame this passive will fall off drastically due to the fact miss fortune will be targeting 1 Champion at a time like a ADC should, and their will be alot less minions to kill. My suggestion for love tap would be to reduce the amount of bonus damage this skill applies and allow it to reactivate after so many consecutive hits. This change would keep MF's passive viable as the game transitions to late. _**Double up**_ really didn't change exept it now can apply love tap to both targets hit slightly increasing MF's damage thought the game. _**Strut**_ moving the passive of strut and tying it to her attack speed buff was highly respectable leaving miss fortune with the first thing that made her unique, her ability to chase down her bounties. Some might say the decrease in duration on her attack speed might impare her. But with the increase to her overall attack speed buff and the fact you can extend its duration will just require summoner's to think more strategicly when using the skill. _**Make it rain**_ is a skill that has sorta been overlooked since her release. The ability to see in the fog of war when using the skill is an excellent way to check your surroundings when things seem to good to be true. Also the slow can be used as a slight but situationally effective escape. For those who say bogus on this account I say lead your thru the bush between dragon and the wall on bot side pop a quick E and tell me how its not gonna slow them down without them wasting their flash. Their are may spots on the field where dropping a make it rain will give mf a chance to get away. _**Bullet Time**_ This skill is thee skill giving MF her title back as wombo combo QUEEN. Late game this skill can easily do 3-4k damage per enemy champion throught its duration of its channeling. everyone on the enemy team is dead except the true tank if their is one. _**base damage **_ the reduction in MF's base damage seems a lot lower than it actually is. Miss Fortune used to be an early game powerhouse. With her current changes MF is now weaker early game and is an aoe glass cannon late game. Causing her damage to appear off balance when first using her. By end game the MF's damage per lvl stats puts her about 30-40 base damage below other ADC'S at lvl 18, these numbers seem very high but are very accurate at the same time. I can see where Riot is coming from on this one seeing that her ulti is like activate and penta kill now. But I also understand the players point of view where it does not matter if the ultimate has been severly increased theirs little to no follow up compared to other ADC's. Over all I believe Miss Fortune should receive some tweaks to her passive slight but not drastic changes that make it more viable late game. I agree with Statikk on the fact everyone should give her new passive and scaling a chance it dosnt need change it needs adjustments. And to the players in this thread. Yes I know she still wont be lcs material cause once she jumps in a fight does her one trick pony ultimate miss fortune will become useless once more. she cant dish it tons of damage after her ulti due to her passive proc and base damage and she cant run away because she still lacks the current requirement of league of legends a solid escape. You got many good ,well founded points ! Just a few things I wanted to point out : - Imo Love Tap doesnt fall off lategame at all , while its true that you will have less opportunities to use it efficiently , it still deals chunks of dmg against oppenents since it scales with freaking 100% total AD ( after lv11! ) - Make it Rain : Just wanted to say THANK U ! Finally someone who appreciates the great utility of this skill ! The range increase makes using it SO much easier - Base Dmg : Yes her base dmg is low compared to other ADC`s, but considering Love Tap dmg it has to be! Dont underestimate Love Tap guys , after Lv11 your AA´s dmg get almost doubled because Love Tap scaling increases from 70% to 100% at lv 11 ! - Early game : Trust me MF is still the early game powerhouse she used to be. 1 BF sword is enough to erase 1/3 health of the enemy adc ( 1/2 health of enemies squishy supp ) with a crit-Q + Love Tap proc ! Imho even to me (MF lover + main) the dmg seems abit ridiculous xD

He ult is really easy to avoid or get away from. Her E just feels useless all together. And she has no escapes. The ap scaling on all her stuff seems pointless and tacked on because AP Miss Fortune is just an ARAM gimmick and a hybrid build is even more of a gimmick. : I have played new miss.She have so big damage with ulty and she's range is good.She need more attack speed and she will be perfect.One more think killing me, why her Q doesn't scale with attack speed.She's new update needs better attack speed and she need more AD.
More Atk Speed? Dude W gives her freaking 120% xD More Atkspeed and/or more dmg would make her broken
