: Aatrox Bug Thread
I noticed a bug/missing feature in aatrox's ult. The red slash particles that follow his blade in his Q aren't active during his ultimate. Using Q without Ult: nice red slash. Using Q with Ult: no red slash. It makes the animation of the 2nd part of his Q, where the blade does a 180 lateral swing, look stilted, as the red slash normally hides how the blade skips about half of the swing. Also, are there missing sound effect for his blade? Currently it sounds like fiora's pool party blade, real splashy when you'd expect a solid crunch.
: I love Aatrox a lot and I really hope there is a rioter looking for feedback and discussion about this champion. There is honestly a fair amount that could be improved both in terms of aesthetics and gameplay. Aatrox passive is very strong with a high cooldown. It's current cooldown is reduced Aatrox cast's a spell or lands Q on a champion (Tooltip currently lies at the moment, cooldown is reduced on champions ONLY if a champion is in the knockup zone). It is very unsatisfying to spend such a high cooldown on last hitting. You don't have a choice on whether you can use it or not. Compared to similar abilities such as Gangplank passive (which can be fully reset through usage of barrels) and Kled's W (which has a significantly lower cooldown and isn't completely expended on the first autoattack), Aatrox passive doesn't feel good to use even with the partial reset. It would be interesting to test a version similar to Sejuani E (it would not be usable on weaker targets such as minions and small monsters), or at least a somewhat lower cooldown (25 ► 20) so a full combo could start and end with a passive proc. Aatrox W is a bit strange as well. Champions and large monster's get chained, but not epic monsters such as baron or dragon. Aatrox Q and E have gained some fair attention to being similar to Riven's Q and E. Both champions tend to use their mobility to set up for their damaging abilities, and a triple cast Q which is their bread and butter. Riven is designed more around speed and mobility, whereas Aatrox seems to be more about raw damage and strength. However Aatrox doesn't exactly feel good to use. Getting locked into place for three seperate casts can be frustrating at times, especially compared to other fighters such as Darius (Q) and Camille (E). Additionally, since the only way he can move during Q casts is his E, the ability seems to lack alot of impact through it's high cooldown and short distance. While Aatrox E has some of its power in passive spell vamp (which honestly feels somewhat weaker on the numbers in its current iteration), the ability itself doesn't feel satisfying at times due to its range and high cooldown early on. The champion could really benefit from being able to move during Q animation without E (even if slower, or less damage). It would be much more satisfying for the player, and would open up being able to use E in ways other than in conjunction with Q. Finally aesthetically Aatrox is looking extremely weird without wings. It would be nice if he could have smaller wings passively while his sword isn't on his back, which could grow when he casts R. Additionally he is missing a running animation, which looks off especially when he has homeguard's. This Aatrox rework is well done but need's some polish. I don't know if what i suggest is right, but I feel like it is worth exploring a bit to make this champion feel better to use and look at.
Yeah. He needs his wings back to hide his skinny legs. If only they made him THICC like his champion trailer....
: I agree, and posted it earlier on reddit! While I like the new default look more, I know a lot of people would like wings back, so I am fairly certain they could work out in a toggle, with off as default state. Also, maybe his "E" dash should summon the wings for the duration of the cast, so he propels forward with them!
You said my thoughts exactly. They even have the wings animated for his ctrl+2.

Yeah. His legs have always been ridiculously skinny, but before his wings hid that. He really doesn't match up with the trailer at all though either.
: exactly, before he was a diver no he is nothing Tho i think they made his W even worse like I take that the new "W" is comparison of his old "E" (slow and every thing that comes w it) dont see the point like before u just went in and that was it but now u need literally to wait to trigger that effect (i personally dont like to wait, so i play all in champs, and one champ that i could describe i hate is prob viktor) Cool ability and all, but just if they would make it to trigger more quicker like in 0.5s or even sooner more like instant) Like honestly i dont care about DMG i just care about clean gameplay executions like for example rengar...
yeah, the delay on his all of his abilities now is weird getting used to. And they are all so telegraphed they're pretty easy to dodge :/
: Aatrox needs work.
His passive is down to 6 seconds if you use and land all your q's and use your e's +w. I really like his q though, and I'm not sure that it needs to be changed. I think its hard to tell if his q is strong or weak right now cuz it'll need a lot of practice to master. I do agree that he feels pretty squishy for a juggernaut. But maybe thats just because I'm used to playing the current aatrox where he can sustain for MASSIVE amounts of HP every third auto with low HP. Its a lot harder to heal up and win low-hp engagements with the new aatrox as he has no low-hp heal scaling anymore and you have to land his admittedly difficult q's in order to heal up.
: Give Aatrox wings back.
His wings are already there on his model too, with the ctrl+3 animation. They look really legit too.

I know. The old VO was the primary reason I became an aatrox main. I don't understand why they couldn't have just re-recorded the old lines with the new voice actor. I'm pretty sad actually.

Totally agree. I don't want it to be like zileans ult where you get rewarded for NOT killing the target. I think you should gain the full healing bonus at the end of the ult.

similar problem. cycles in and out between games. Ive used practice tool both times before a match, dont know if that helps
: You're wrong. Some runes are just not made for every champion. Have you ever seen a melee champion with deathfire touch except Kassadin ? Do you think that thunderlord should deal more damage with melee champions because it's more difficult to trigger ? There are runes specific to a chunk of champions, and this one is one of them. Why would you want to get health and mana potions on Garen instead of grasp/dark harvest or something useful ?
Nope, you're wrong crazysayajin. Thunderlords (electrecute) is designed for burst damage dealers, who usually have some form of range. It can proc off these ranged abilities. However dark harvest and klepto both only proc off AUTO attacks which heavily favors ranges champs, and its why they cannot be compared to electrecute in terms of balance.
: Why am I encountering really toxic people?
I've only played a couple games, but pretty much every one played silently and nicely. pretty chill games. I've been having fun not being flamed for testing out builds!
