: Hi, Beardilocks here to answer your question about uncorrupted variants of these skins. First let me start off by saying I love how passionate about Xayah and Rakan Star Guardians everyone has been! I can see that you guys love both their light and dark forms, and we have definitely heard your feedback that this is a feature that you would like. However, I'm afraid that it isn't quite as simple as it initially seems, as there are quite a few things to consider. Please bear with me and read the whole context of why we won't be able to provide these. When we set about designing the Star Guardians for this year, we knew we wanted to evolve the thematic and expand the storyline. Until now, there had not been any definite antagonist for the Star Guardians to fight against - just some slightly generic monsters invading the city. We chose to do this by establishing Zoe as a villain in the universe, and having Xayah and Rakan as fallen Guardians, whom she had corrupted with her evil. When we go about creating a new skin for a character we create 3 "Pillars": Core concepts about the identity of the skin that are like guiding principals that we always try to work in to every aspect of their character. For Star Guardian Xayah, these pillars were: - Corrupted former star guardian with **internal struggle** - Dark star guardian beauty/ beauty with an edge - Fierce warrior spirit As such, when we were making creative decisions about the design, animations, sound, visual effects and voice recording, we tried to make sure that we were representing at least one of these pillars. You can see that I have highlighted the **internal struggle** part of her first pillar, as this is the most important defining feature of this skin. In pretty much every ability, animation and recall, we were trying to play up the struggle between dark and light, between good and bad. You can see this in her spells - her W is her reveling in her dark power, using it to damage enemies. Her R is supposed to be the most exciting moment, and highlight of her gameplay, and so is the point where we create the most contrast, expelling out the darkness and returning her to her original light form. All her voice acting also reinforces this - her voice lines are a contrast to her normal ones, where she is a badass anime villain, especially taunting the _loser _Star Guardians of her former team. We also wanted to play up the dynamic between Xayah and Rakan in this struggle between good and evil. In both their solo and duo recalls we see Rakan trying to save Xayah from the darkness by taking it into himself, trying to sacrifice himself to save her, becoming even more dark and corrupted in the process. This all ties into the story of Star Guardian this year (more story details to come soon!), though I don't want to spoil anything more in that area. **If we were to simply put a light version chroma out of this skin it would remove the central pillar of this skin, the internal struggle between light and dark, and the thing that makes this skin a legendary.** It would mean that a lot of their spells would not make any sense. A light Star Guardian Xayah would turn dark when she uses W (which would be a big contrast), but she would not change at all when she did her Ult (which would feel less impactful than her W at that point). Rakan would fire darkness out of him when he did his W (which wouldn't make sense), and when he ulted he'd turn super dark and grow big evil wings. Their recalls would not make any sense either, as the whole aspect of corrupting darkness would be out of place, and there would be no emotional impact to Rakan trying to take the darkness from Xayah. Further more, none of the VO of them being evil would make sense either. Some players have suggested that they would be fine with stuff not making sense and I understand that, but I don't think everyone would feel that way. I welcome anyone who thinks _all_ players would let a "small" detail like most of their spells not making sense to go to read some of the responses of other players on the boards and twitter about minor details they don't like :( If we did commit to fixing all of these things so that they made sense for a light variant, we'd need to do entirely new visual and sound effects, new animations, new voiceover and new recalls. At that point, we would basically have to charge the price of a whole new skin, or to add these as a toggle they'd basically need to become ultimates, because it would take the same amount of development time as a whole new skin would. Deciding to do this would be something we would have to do at the start of development, not after they are revealed on PBE. Additionally, they would be alternate skins that don't really fit into the story that we're trying to tell this year, which might even potentially confuse players. I know you're super passionate about this, and it's something I think would have been awesome to see too, but if it was something we chose to do, I would definitely want to do it properly to do it justice. Instead we chose to focus on delivering dark, corrupted Star Guardians, which I think we did successfully, but I'm sorry if you're disappointed.
And since when are you guys so committed with sticking to a skin's supposed fantasy? Just two years ago, you refused to change Lancer Rogue/Paragon Blitzcrank's walking animation, even when it was the main feedback given to the skin and which would have improved the fantasy that the skin is selling. You are always contradicting yourselves and adjusting your excuses to your benefit.

Riot retain themselves from making skins for champions that do not sell well/have low play rate and when they do, they come up with something like... this. Have you ever considered that maybe those champions do not sell a lot of skins because you come up with the most uninspired and lazy skins for them? I am not saying that the skin is ugly (it's hard for a skin to be ugly nowadays) but it is still meh. You could have done better.

Hi, I am colorblind (strong protan) and I know there’s a colorblind mode, but the combination of blue/pink is annoying/weird to look at. Can you consider adjusting either the color of Yorick’s skin or the onesie? I hope this does not come up as rude but please do not reply saying that you want to keep his skin color for “clarity reasons” when you are replacing Fizz with a dog on the same batch of skins. I like this skin but I will have a hard time playing with it if it stays that way.

You've already done this before with **Lancer Paragon and Rogue Blitzcrank**. You can get the **two skins for 1820 RP**, which means that there is a **66% discount on the second skin** (even though you tried to pass it as a 32% discount on both skins). In this case, it was **two Epic skins released at the same time and with minor or no changes** to the VFX and model (apart from obvious recolors), so the discount is fair. [**_THE PARAGON AND THE ROGUE SET_**](https://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/page/new-skins-lancer-paragon-and-rogue-blitzcrank) Having said that, lemme give my opinion on this topic. Let's start with **Legendary Solar and Lunar Eclipse Leona**. From what you said, there's **enough differences** between the two skins to **justify a 30% discount** (which I hope is not just a recolor in the VFX and model). Also, both of them are brand new, so I think you are being fair with this one, especially because a Legendary skin has more room to work with for this kind of dual releases than an Epic skin. However, the **Pajama Guardians** **main change is their models** and the originals have been on the store **for a year** now. They don't have the same feeling of **novelty **as in the other cases (mainly because they are Epic skins too). In that sense, I think the **discount should be similar to Blitzcrank's skins (between 50% and 66%)**. I know Riot is a business and one of your main goals is to make money, but as a customer and as an owner of the original skins, I don't feel like I am getting a good deal out of these variants. Finally, you should really** value the loyalty of your customers**, the people who **bought the original skins when the event was live** and those who have the **skins with the special borders** deserve more than a 30% discount.

You guys have said several times that one of the reasons why you do not make skins frequently for certain champions is because you want to find a theme that fits the champion perfectly and also because some champions have more complex models than others. Does the skin and effects look good? I mean, yes. It is difficult for a skin to look "bad" nowadays, but I am having a very hard time believing that this is the best theme you could think of for ASol since his release.
: Hiii, friends! Thank you all so much for leaving your feedback here and elsewhere! Everyone on the team is reading through the comments. Sorry for taking so long to respond here. As you can expect out of a tech-intensive skin like GGMF, there are a lot of bugs. o_O I don't get to make the decisions here, but I can act as an advisory source of information and at least bring these points to the decision-makers. With all that said, I wanted to provide a bit of context on some of the common points brought up in this thread (and other online sources). **"WTF is up with her face and neck in the splash art?!"** * You can expect to see an update to this in the next PBE deploy! Hopefully the changes feel better to ya'll. **"Her VO doesn't sound like Miss Fortune! And why all the sexual lines?"** * Unfortunately, we couldn't get base MF's voice actress for this skin, so that was unavoidable. As for all the sexualized lines, we actually got that same feedback during the process to tone down the seductive lines and add more of that fierce Captain Fortune vibe, so we ended up adding in more "vicious" and "cutthroat" lines for events that tend to play more often (e.g. Long Move, Attack). We honestly feel good about the current state of her VO in regards to capturing MF in this universe. **"These forms look like _chromas_, change the models!"** * Unfortunately, there are limitations that prevent us from changing the models at this stage. We can make minor tweaks to the textures however. **"Why does the jetpack VFX blink?"** * With the way the VFX is set up to play from the animation, this is an unavoidable side-effect. We managed to make this a little less noticeable at least! **"The animations are way too close to base!"** * Keeping the animations fairly close to base was a concession that we had to make early on in development. If a marksman is going to be able to transform an unlimited amount of times throughout the game with varying particles (as well as a very different silhouette with her shoulder-pieces, exo-suit, and guns), we have to make tough choices to keep consistency with Base MF in several areas to maintain the MF read. **"Change the in-game portraits to match with the splash!"** * There aren't any plans to do this at the moment, but I can check with the team and see what they think. If we can leverage Elementalist Lux's tech and iterate on the splash easily, then there's a possibility, but the timeline is still super tight. **"Bring her back into production and re-release her at the typical Ultimate skin price."** * Mr. Cactopus addressed that [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/82pel6/riot_should_bring_back_gun_goddess_mf_in/dvbvyiu/). **"Change her VO lines to be different per form."** * She actually does have unique VO lines per form! Currently, we don't plan on expanding the current list of unique VO lines. **"There's a super annoying bug where she appears at the edge of the Fog of War!"** * This should be fixed now!
According to [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nd7tB99T1hY) video, your criteria for Ultimate skins is based on two things: **innovation and experience. ** We already know that GGMF is not innovative (Lux and Sona already introduced the multi-forms tech), so I expected that the experience of playing with GGMF to feel out of this world (pun intended). Instead, we got a subpar **Legendary ** and you justify calling it a **Ultimate ** by adding 3 "forms", which do not feel like forms at all. Again, each form lacks a clear identity, they look like chromas of the base form that you can change inside the game instead of champ select like the rest of the chromas (lemme clarify that I am only talking about the appearance and animations, the VFX and SFX are clearly defined for each form but that's not enough). I am sorry if this sounds rude, but the skins team did not a good job translating each of the exosuits' fantasy to the models. It really bothers me how instead of improving, this seems like a **downgrade **in tems of experience when compared to other Ultimates. DJ Sona has three forms with clear identities (and she does not even change her suit, but the team did a good job translating the genres fantasy with her hair, helmet and Etwahl) and lemme not get started with Lux.... it's feels like a joke how we went from having an Ultimate skin with **10 clearly defined forms** to this... I am okay with GGMF having less forms, but they are not well made and defined like Lux's forms. The idle/attack animations are lackluster. I have a better experience playing with **PROJECT: Vayne** and I actually feel like a project hunter. Why it feels better to play with a **Legendary **skin than with the supposed **Ultimate** one? Aren't Ultimates the ones that should give the player a **superior playing experience**? You should have given her new unique animations and use them in all the forms. You said that this is hard because her model changes in each form, which is kind of a lame excuse, because Lux and Sona change too and they got new animations and in all the forms, which also change **A LOT** more than GGMF's ones. Even GGMF's icons feel chroma-ish compared to the past Ultimates. Legendary and Ultimate skins always feel like an **event **and I do not even play most of the champions that have them. As a MF main, I literally SCREAMED when I saw the Ultimate announcement. I was hoping for a Legendary and I was so excited for it. Then, I was completely blown away. My favorite champion was going to receive the most amazing skin in the game and she was going to have new animations, models, voiceover and she will finally reflect that badass attitude that she has in the lore, but then I saw it in-game and I felt like a kid that just received a bag of coal for Christmas. The skin **IS AMAZING**, but the skin **IS NOT** ** what you are trying to sell us**. What it sucks the most, it's that you do not seem to have a receptive attitude towards all the feedback that you are receiving and will probably release her very close to how she is right now. This basically kills MF's changes of receiving a proper Legendary or Ultimate in the distant future, so yeah, fuck MF and her mains. Is it really that hard to go back to the development stage and improve her? or to release it as Legendary with chromas (taking away the in game transformation)? I don't have problem with throwing $20 at the screen as long as the skin is well made, but this is not the case.
: PBE Bugs & Feedback Thread: Gun Goddess Miss Fortune!
I just used her in a custom game and I can say that I was pleasantly surprised. I thought the VFX was going to be just a recolor from the base one, but that wasn't the case. There are very clear differences between the abilities in each of the suits (I like how she only uses one hand for the ultimate in some of the exosuits and both of them for the others). Starswarm is my favorite one. <3 My only complains: Out of all the abilities, the one that feels more lackluster when changing forms is Strut (W). There are almost no changes from form to form. Maybe you can add similar particles like the ones in the guns when MF's uses Bullet Time (R)? The exosuits and MF's appeareance feel very **_chroma-ish_**. I know that the guns completely change in each one of the forms, but the rest of the changes are just recolors or patterns and I think that's not enough. Every suit has a different description/purpose and components, but when I look at them, there are not enough indicators of what they represent to tell them apart. If it wasn't for the VFX and SFX, it would basically be _"Scarlet Fair in a different color_". Let's take a look at DJ Sona. She has the same suit in all the forms, but the helmet, Etwahl and hair color/flow have very distinct characteristics to "sell" that reality of changing from one music genre to another one. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/mOQKMsURFas/maxresdefault.jpg Now, Elementalist Lux. Each element has a different staff, dress and hairstyle. You even managed to make the experience of playing with two similar elements feel different (magma/fire) thanks to this. NO dress has the same structure as the others (some have capes, other skirts, etc.). http://i.imgur.com/Oq1cmp9.jpg I know is hard, but it would nice if you could try to give each one of the suits and what they represent a more clear identity. Right now, they do not transmit a different mood. Is there a reason why you guys decided not to change MF's hairstyle? I think that would be enough to change the "feel" of each one of the forms.
: Hi hi! We've removed character inking, which should fix up some of your hair concerns. I'd noticed there's a couple pieces of hair that move about during her idles - the animator is going to take a look at those. :) We're also making changes to the VFX (small tweaks here and there), mostly variation in the skills. Thanks for the feedback! :)
Thank you so much for listening to the feedback! I know the quality of the skin will improve a lot. Can't wait to buy it once it goes to the live servers!
: [CLOSED] PBE Bugs & Feedback Thread: Death Sworn Katarina!
The new hair animations look great while Katarina is moving around, but it looks weird when she is standing still (it keeps floating in an unnatural way). Overall, it is a great skin, but I agree with what others have already said: the VFX is lacking spookiness (especially the ultimate). That recall tho, probably her best one to date.
