: Hi, Beardilocks here to answer your question about uncorrupted variants of these skins. First let me start off by saying I love how passionate about Xayah and Rakan Star Guardians everyone has been! I can see that you guys love both their light and dark forms, and we have definitely heard your feedback that this is a feature that you would like. However, I'm afraid that it isn't quite as simple as it initially seems, as there are quite a few things to consider. Please bear with me and read the whole context of why we won't be able to provide these. When we set about designing the Star Guardians for this year, we knew we wanted to evolve the thematic and expand the storyline. Until now, there had not been any definite antagonist for the Star Guardians to fight against - just some slightly generic monsters invading the city. We chose to do this by establishing Zoe as a villain in the universe, and having Xayah and Rakan as fallen Guardians, whom she had corrupted with her evil. When we go about creating a new skin for a character we create 3 "Pillars": Core concepts about the identity of the skin that are like guiding principals that we always try to work in to every aspect of their character. For Star Guardian Xayah, these pillars were: - Corrupted former star guardian with **internal struggle** - Dark star guardian beauty/ beauty with an edge - Fierce warrior spirit As such, when we were making creative decisions about the design, animations, sound, visual effects and voice recording, we tried to make sure that we were representing at least one of these pillars. You can see that I have highlighted the **internal struggle** part of her first pillar, as this is the most important defining feature of this skin. In pretty much every ability, animation and recall, we were trying to play up the struggle between dark and light, between good and bad. You can see this in her spells - her W is her reveling in her dark power, using it to damage enemies. Her R is supposed to be the most exciting moment, and highlight of her gameplay, and so is the point where we create the most contrast, expelling out the darkness and returning her to her original light form. All her voice acting also reinforces this - her voice lines are a contrast to her normal ones, where she is a badass anime villain, especially taunting the _loser _Star Guardians of her former team. We also wanted to play up the dynamic between Xayah and Rakan in this struggle between good and evil. In both their solo and duo recalls we see Rakan trying to save Xayah from the darkness by taking it into himself, trying to sacrifice himself to save her, becoming even more dark and corrupted in the process. This all ties into the story of Star Guardian this year (more story details to come soon!), though I don't want to spoil anything more in that area. **If we were to simply put a light version chroma out of this skin it would remove the central pillar of this skin, the internal struggle between light and dark, and the thing that makes this skin a legendary.** It would mean that a lot of their spells would not make any sense. A light Star Guardian Xayah would turn dark when she uses W (which would be a big contrast), but she would not change at all when she did her Ult (which would feel less impactful than her W at that point). Rakan would fire darkness out of him when he did his W (which wouldn't make sense), and when he ulted he'd turn super dark and grow big evil wings. Their recalls would not make any sense either, as the whole aspect of corrupting darkness would be out of place, and there would be no emotional impact to Rakan trying to take the darkness from Xayah. Further more, none of the VO of them being evil would make sense either. Some players have suggested that they would be fine with stuff not making sense and I understand that, but I don't think everyone would feel that way. I welcome anyone who thinks _all_ players would let a "small" detail like most of their spells not making sense to go to read some of the responses of other players on the boards and twitter about minor details they don't like :( If we did commit to fixing all of these things so that they made sense for a light variant, we'd need to do entirely new visual and sound effects, new animations, new voiceover and new recalls. At that point, we would basically have to charge the price of a whole new skin, or to add these as a toggle they'd basically need to become ultimates, because it would take the same amount of development time as a whole new skin would. Deciding to do this would be something we would have to do at the start of development, not after they are revealed on PBE. Additionally, they would be alternate skins that don't really fit into the story that we're trying to tell this year, which might even potentially confuse players. I know you're super passionate about this, and it's something I think would have been awesome to see too, but if it was something we chose to do, I would definitely want to do it properly to do it justice. Instead we chose to focus on delivering dark, corrupted Star Guardians, which I think we did successfully, but I'm sorry if you're disappointed.
You're right, it does make having the light version more special if it's just a few moments of transformation between ults and such. A toggle would perhaps be too much. In the way of the lore, you could really have good sense how the light on her is minimized. It feelse more 'impactful' that way. HOWEVER, I also think that chromas on their own have no link to the lore whatsoever. Correct me if I'm wrong. In that sense, I don't think having a chroma for it would be bad. But then again...it would kind of take away the 'meaning' of the skin itself, by granting the 'ability' to be light version forever. It literally takes away the purpose of the skin which you're trying very well to make it clear to the people. All n' all, as you can see, I got mixed feelings. At one point a chroma shouldn't matter at all if it's just cosmetics only. though... But y'know. Thank you however for taking your time to explain your feelings about this whole situation.

I absolutely adore the Xayah skin and patterns, everything! Good job skin team. The only thing I kinda also wish and miss is that Xayah doesn't wear a hood anymore in any of her skins (except for the Cosmic one of course) I mean it's not a big deal I suppose, but I really, really love that part about her design...the hood and ears poking out! Would've been cool if she had some kind of toggle for that perhaps like some legendaries do. Other than that, I really hope there will be chromas. I'd love to see some more tones with this skin as I'm personally not particular fond with pink/purple green combo...
: PBE Bugs & Feedback Thread: Blood Moon Chromas!
Hello, I hope I am still in time. I posted this a very long time ago on the Bloodmoon skins thread regarding chromas, but then I was told that they they handle here...took me a while to figure out why I couldn't log in on PBE forum(even sent a ticket) either way, it's fixed now. Please read, I hope changes are still possible (copypasted here on what I wrote in the other thread): Hey hey, I absolutely LOVE this skin! everything is great just as it is, however just one thing I'd like to adres. please hear me out: I was really happy to find out there were cromas. Especially a purple version (I'm going to guess its Amethyst but I'm not sure for this one) because I mainly ALWAYS love purple ones and this absolutely perfect with it imo. Anywho, the only thing that I feel is bothering is that **the mask is not white or just too blue.** The blue hue kind of ruins the skull-aspect from the whole Blood Moon theme. Since every other croma is either white or an even slighter color hue to them (Which is almost unnoticeable since it still keeps white base as main color) they still look really great. Why treat this one different? If decisions are to still keep it blue either way, then perhaps make it a bit of a less 'bright' blue? I made an example https://i.imgur.com/567OlDh.png"[/url]

Oh man...seeing that splash art release makes me scream. it's so cool...Please, pleeeasee Riot. release more chroma types! I'd really still love to see more variations, or at least be on par with the amount the others gotten... ;_; {{sticker:sg-soraka}}
: I see that A Sol has 7 and Braum 8. Maybe they will listen to the feedback and give us 2 or 3 more! One can only hope :3
Yeah I absolutely hope so...this skin is amazing, I really wish for a few more cool chromas with purple in them if they follow that theme >.<
: I am not exaggerating at all, I am really THAT impressed with her chromas. But of course, this is just my opinion, I never claimed everyone else must be thinking the same. As for your request of adding more chromas, I'm all for it! The more the better! Especially if they are as good as the existing ones~! ^_^
Yeah exactly, its personal preference, hence why I edited my downvote. But seeing here that you actually would support having more chromas, it's all fine of course. It's just that your comment felt like it was "all fine and amazing" which I personally didn't agree with.
: Btw, you didn't have to downvote me just because you don't agree the chromas are nice. That was just an afterthought and some praise for the artist who worked on them. What I wanted to emphasize were the other points I made and I am more concerned with those than with the chromas. For example I really think hiding the mask with ctrl+5 is a MUST for this skin.
I downvoted because I didn't agree personally, yes. And then put a comment below to give context to my downvote without interrupting the mask-toggle idea, although I later upvoted again because in the end it's just a personal preference. It's just that I and many others feel there needs to be more work done to the chromas than just leaving it as it is, as you didn't mention anything to be open towards any improvement and just accepted them for what they are.
: Heyo! Big time Lulu fan here with 750k mastery on her (summoner name "Lulu the Support" on EU NE). She's pretty much the only reason I'm still playing league these days. I thought I'd drop by and give my 2 cents on the skin. I'll be honest, when I first saw the skin I was extremely disappointed because I don't like the cosmic theme line. To top it off, it wasn't even a legendary quality skin. BUT THEN I SAW THE CHROMAS! And I almost orgasmed! The chromas for this skin are absolutely amazing. The person who made them must be a genius. I'll be buying them all no doubt! There are however a few points that would get them closer to perfection (in order of importance): 1. Ctrl+5 the mask. I beg you! I need to see that cute face together with the fanged cute teeth! 2. The turquoise chroma has one of my favourite color palettes, but it has the creepiest mask. Please change the eyes into something else... 3. The ult particles are amazing, but I feel the pattern on the ground is a bit too prominent. The pattern on her other skins doesn't look so clear cut. It's almost as if it's not Lulu's ult. 4. The auto attack VFX could use a little more polishing. Currently they feel quite unsatisfying compared to her other skins.
I'm sure you're a bit exaggerating over the chromas... Don't you think that there should be more variety in the chromas at least? The color combos are really weird. As said in my original post, I'm not saying they should remove the existing ideas, but perhaps expand a little. Compared to the other released chromas in this patch, they have a lot more color differences and distinctive differences.

Hey KiwiKid, I absolutely love this skin, but I just wish there were better chromas. Purple with green...? Not really a great combo imo. The only chroma that looks kinda appealing is the black+red (Obsidian) and pink+pink(Rose Quartz) chroma(from what I've heard from feedback of people too). I feel there's just not much variety ...most of them are purple with an odd color on top. Pink(Rose Quartz) and purple+red(Rose Quartz) look somewhat the same too. I know her theme is purple, but these odd colors combos don't really fit well like the red and green hat, I feel... Maybe some people like it and I don't wanna eliminate those colors, but like I said...I don't feel there's much variety at all, also compared to the other released chromas... (Gosh, if only the black hat + purple hair was a thing. I'd be in love. ;p but that's just a random idea, there are many ways to improve the chromas of course.)
: PBE Bugs & Feedback Thread: Dark Star Cho'Gath
I know people have opinions, I respect them. But it really makes me sadface to see that people don't want this skin on sale at all, or that it's not worth the RP. Sure, things can be improved and everything. Not saying this skin is 100% everything a person wants. But holy heck, how much I love this skin. It made me play Cho'gath because I wanna be full ready when this is released! I absolutely love the transition from normal to ult especially. It's like having 2 skins somewhat because there are clear indications where parts of his body change after you gain stacks. Even the main color somewhat changes through the hues. I love it. this skin is amazingly fantastic. And yes, a lot of skins receive cheaper pricing for OLDER models and animations, but I really think that the Dark Star skin's model changing when you gain stacks kind of makes up for that. I agree with some comments that some particles could be enhanced, but even if they were left unchanged, I'd still be happy for what this skin is giving me. I personally am 100% satisfied with what I saw in the pre-release video. Considering this will be a limited sale skin (even if it will be released in the future again, it's still somewhat 'legacy' I assume then) I'd love to have a border along with this. Not for the reason that you bought it at Charity, but for the reason you bought it the first time it was released. Like some skins have borders along with them the first time they got released. Again, since this is a somewhat 'legacy' skin as well, I think that supports the idea of it receiving a border even more. I really can't wait for this to be released, thanks for making this.
