: Hey Sona Only! I'll check this out! All of the "Champion" looking monsters, are champions. However we have copied them, so there could definitely be some functional differences between those champions and ours. Anything that isn't a "Champion" looking monster, i.e. Rift Herald and Voidlings/Voidspawn, would not count towards athenes. Thanks for the report!

I see, that makes sense then! I've played a little more and tried my best to look at my heal counts after recently dealing damage to an enemy champion and there's definitely a healing increase. So it's most likely just a visual bug for the athenes stacks than it just flat out not working.

: EXPERIMENTAL Sona changes V2 (feedback wanted)
Personally I think it would be better to make the Q cd 11, reverting the shield buffs, so she can keep the 50% at max rank. The E changes alone were what made her feel a lot better. I would gladly trade some early lane pressure for a stronger E. You can even raise the mana cost on it.
: EXPERIMENTAL Sona changes. Feedback wanted
So I see lots of people wanting these changes reverted, but I really disagree. I will say that the aura radius might be a bit /too/ small, a 50 size increase wouldn't hurt. The E changes are amazing and this is what should stay. Q changes do hurt her laning but I feel it's a fair trade, though her actual aura needs to be stronger. W aura could be stronger too, I'll repeat what I suggested earlier and say giving her back the .5 %missing health ratio that was taken from her heal and putting it on the shield would help. I think something that will determine if these changes help Sona is if she can function well without Lichbane/lots of ap. I'll try out a support build later.
: EXPERIMENTAL Sona changes. Feedback wanted
So from playing her some (need to take a break so I can go to class), I really like these changes. At first I was worried because of the aura reduction, but now I understand why you did that. New Q has less laning pressure now, but it's not that big of a deal tbh. I will say that Q's aura /is/ kind of lacking now that the range is really small. Perhaps let it apply to towers? W seems to not be showing the correct numbers that you posted here? Can't remember but I think the tooltip showed lesser values for the shield. E feels REALLY good now; on live servers I don't take E until level 7-8, but now it's definitely worth to take it level 3 again. These numbers are really important and I feel if she's too strong after these changes, tuning this down it the last thing you want to do. If her laning suffers too much, I suggest maybe re-adding the .5:1%missing health ratio she used to have on W's heal (it was cut in half) to her W shield. So basically it'd be: **ACTIVE:** Sona heals herself and the most wounded nearby allied champion, increased by 0.5% for every 1% of target's missing health. [ MINIMUM HEAL: 30 / 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 (+ 20% AP) ] [ MAXIMUM HEAL: 45 / 75 / 105 / 135 / 165 (+ 30% AP) ] **AURA:** Sona and tagged allied champions receive a shield lasting up to 1.5 seconds, increased by 0.5% for every 1% of target's missing health. [ MINIMUM SHIELD STRENGTH: 30 / 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 (+ 20% AP) ] [MAXIMUM SHIELD STRENTH: 45 / 75 / 105 / 135 / 165 (+ 30% AP) ] ** One last thing: would it be possible to add buff/debuff Icons that Arcade Sona had, to at least Diminuendo? No one EVER notices when you use your W powerchord, and it actually makes a difference in trades/teamfights (not as strong as Exhaust of course but it's not bad, it's just that nobody notices it). **

Holy moly those E changes are really good. While have my own ideas about how Sona could be changed (got a rework doc saved somewhere), these changes seem pretty good. I've always felt that Sona's power was too tied to laning (which kind of diminished this season since games are faster). Tuning down her laning pressure for some teamfight-oriented/lategame power is a good idea in my opinion. I really think the E buffs are what you should prioritize on keeping intact to the live patch. If she needs a little tuning down in other areas so she can keep this buff, I suggest increasing the mana cost to Q and E. I'll try the changes out when my client finishes patching :)

There's a really complex algorithm, yeah. It likes brushes, doesn't like being right on top of walls, etc etc etc. Too many behaviors to list. The ideas that you get a feel for it after playing Zyra a while, but it never ends up being wholly predictable.

It's interesting! There's some trickiness to it though--it would make playing against Zyra much more difficult since you couldn't know where the E was going to start, and it would also make Zyra players learn a new input pattern. That last one isn't a deal breaker, just an increase to cost, but the first one is tough... one of the things keeping Zyra's power in check is that the root has good counterplay. If she could use the Viktor targetting to start the root right on top of someone, that seems like that could be pretty tough to play against.

I would totally love this.

Yeah, now that I've played a little bit the Q feels like it takes a lot of time to get used to. E would synergize really well because of the way you aim Q.

: MYMU - Zyra discussion
Oh there it is. I'm really liking this update (or what I've read of it; updating my client as I type this). I like this version of her passive a lot better; it looks like it'll even make her jungling stronger, which I like. Having 8 seeds planted max sounds crazy fun, especially in teamfights. Did her old passive contain a lot of Zyra's power budget? It feels like she's now pretty strong in extended fights, but the tradeoff is that she won't have a 'last effort' move in case she dies. I posted this in another thread: "Did anyone ever have the idea to change her E to work similar to Viktor's laser? Where you could aim the direction it goes? It would synergize well with her new Q imo."
: MYMU - Vel'koz Discussion
Apologies that this is the wrong thread (can't find one specifically for Zyra), but I wanted to ask: Did anyone ever have the idea to change her E to work similar to Viktor's laser? Where you could aim the direction it goes? It would synergize well with her new Q imo.
: > That Athenes is practically designed to fail honestly. It's too niche, you have maybe 5 champions that can build it. It's likely that the pool of champions will be small. It's honestly small already because no champion really has a need for Chalice at the moment because there's so many good support options other than those lines. However - there are two primary goals here: 1. Get infinite mana off of being a mage expectation. If I changed Morello to Flat Mana and I didn't touch Athene's - everyone would just swap to Athene's. 2. Try to create some way of still providing regeneration based mana at a huge identity trade-off - which is what the item does. I hope to never go into an Orianna or Morgana game expecting to build it because I want to be a primary damage threat - but if it turns out that's impossible due to circumstances - having a path to opt into a supportive pattern appeals to me from the choice front. However, what I will say is that making the Ardent Censer space work would be a win on its own. I had another item that I was working on (A Sheen upgrade for supportive mages) - all under the general umbrella that the item space for supportive mages is a bit thin and none of it works and it needs further exploration and experimentation in this area. Basically, support itemization for castery types is pretty uninteresting at the moment and despite the high chance of failure (See also: Rocket Belt) - would still like to deep dive and explore the items for a while. Spooky Ghosts straight up didn't work until the stat-line was made smooth.

She'll still do >100% hp true damage with that much AD. Since we're on the topic of towers, may I ask if Riposte is intended to work on outer-tower shots (not lasers, but the blasts)? The tooltip for her W says 'all incoming damage' but I tried a lot of times to Riposte a tower shot and it didn't seem to work.
: [5.13] Core AP Items Pass
Have you considered Lich Bane for these changes? Also, regarding Rylai's: will Sona's Q become a 40% slow for 1 second for 20% slow?
: Sona, Keeps building up aura. Causeing lag spikes.
I was just about to post a thread about this haha. I think the color that takes over depends on which spell you use the most. Mine was purple (E)
: 'Ascension' game mode coming soon to PBE
This mode is very very fun, but I feel like either Relics give too many points or spawn too quickly. In my opinion this mode is like the team deathmatch of LoL, but some teams have been acquiring a lot of points by simply getting relics.

That'd be a gnarly way for Nunu to ascend.
