Yeah, you're right, there's an edge case where if you're playing as a 5-person premade you can all queue for the same position. The algorithm doesn't actually depend on assigned position though so if everyone does that it just uses the pure detection of who did what and where instead.
: First question that pops in my mind about this is: what if the game is not following the meta ? Normally games go 1 Top, 1 Mid, 1 Jngl, 1 Bot and 1 Supp. But there are situations (or games) that don't follow this pattern. I had one game where for example a bard wasn't in any lane whatsoever, and he wasn't jungle either. He was just roaming the game and taxing lanes on gold and xp. So question is, how is this situation gonna be handled ? Is he gonna be assigned a random lane from the ones he can potentially be (like jngl or supp) ? Same goes for games where there's for example 2 Tops instead of 1 Top 1 Jngl, etc...
Whenever we're not sure, we'll generally fall back to assigned positions. Our algorithm requires one player for each position, so in the case you mentioned the Bard will probably be placed as Support just because everyone else is pretty obviously playing their position. We're generally assuming the vast majority of games will follow the standard meta since the modes we're using this in are modes where positions are assigned and there's one of each on every team. We'll assess and tune the algorithm if needed to accommodate edge cases and really weird stuff, but it should already handle all but the most crazy things.

Hey guys! Sorry, we turned it on temporarily for testing and end of season and we should have turned it back off. We generally try to keep fewer queues active on PBE so we can make sure matchmaking times are ok for you guys, but sometimes we need to temporarily activate more queues to test things. Please do keep in mind though that we don't expect PBE to operate at the same standards of queue time, competitive integrity, etc. as live environments.
: Honestly, I'm not really a fan of this. It makes champion select look much less aesthetically pleasing with awkwardly cropped slices of skin splashes. I feel like it could be done in a way that was more visually appealing without taking away from the slick, clean look of the updated client's champ select.

By default you'll see a base splash if you don't own any skins. When I mentioned that previews only appear for skins you own, I mean your allies will only see that you've selected a particular skin if you own it. You'll see whichever skin each person on your team has selected as long as they own it, even if it's the base one.

That sucks, sorry you're running into this issue. We can try to look at the configuration on our side. This is kind of a special queue, so I think what we do is have a "0 second" declaration phase. Players shouldn't even really notice, but it could be what's causing your issue. Have you tried this not in low spec mode? Or on a different computer? You might also try the suggestion KanTaurI made. I promise we'll look into this, but it might not be until the new year. I hope we can find a workaround for you before then.

It'll take us a little bit of time to figure out whether that will "just work" since we've never had a queue like that before. If it does, we'll look to roll it out ASAP.

: Ohhhh yes! Really like the part where it uses data from the previous patch to determine roles. My question is do you have to go in the individual roles to favourite champs for each of them? If so perhaps make it so that you can do that under the collections tab, because you might not have enough time to do so in champ select, especially in regions like OCE with only blind pick which is the only nonranked queue most of the time
You can right-click a champion in the grid and pick which position you want to favorite it for. In the future we might add this to Collection, but we wanted to keep the feature light so we could get it to players sooner rather than later.

One thing we want to be careful about is creating filters that become muscle memory to the point where you hide other champions you might want to play and end up making your overall experience less fun without even realizing it. I know it might seem silly, but we see these kinds of effects a lot as people get used to using certain UIs. The way we tried to solve this is by using a sort instead so favorites bubble up to the top but you'll still see other suggestions below. Hopefully it'll still serve your purpose pretty well!

We'll be looking to use the pro format for picks and bans wherever we think it makes sense, including custom tournament draft. More on that in the future.
