I don't work on the Skin team but I do work on his Chromas. Be assured that the team have been thinking/discussing about this very extensively. From what I know, there haven't been communication around it because they are still trying to see what changes are possible to be made. The Chroma team is on standby to match these last minute changes. I feel for the skins team as It is hard to be answering every comment, especially when time is tight for Ivern. However, I do think we can do better to keep everyone in the loops.

We are constantly hiring more. It is not as easy as if we want to hire more, there are more. Ex: League is actually very old (10+ years) so some of the techniques are super dated as well. Most students now work on Unity or Unreal. There are only a handful of top artists around the world, and many studios that want them. Moreover, when we do hire an artist, we still need to prioritize their time. There are a billion cool things to do but some will have priority over others. There will always be more amazing things to do than the people combined in this world :P This is why we have probably around 3000 Rioters around the world to work on a FTP game. The more you great people you hire, the bigger/greater things you want to do and then the more people you need to hire XD

I remember receiving the survey about this and I remember that I said that I bought and would continue to buy the chromas that came (although I have been demotivated with the chromas exclusivity policy adopted since last year), but I don't remember any questions about liking or not base skin chromas. To this day I see people using them for Bard, Blitz, Cait, Darius, Fizz, Morgana and Zac and who considers some of them better or as good as other skins (and I'm one of them)! Oh, and... If you guys are going to keep the differential nomenclature for base skins, could you at least remove the name from those of other skins, like Pool Party Leona and Dreadnight Nasus? It doesn't make sense half the chromas of Dragon Fist Lee Sin to have one more word being that the first half is as good as the second (yellow and black was the first chroma to be colored in different pattern)! PS: Sorry for my bad english and exclamations! I didn't want to sound aggressive, just express myself. :)
New skins are better quality, thus their chromas are better quality. In terms of reception, even with the lower price point they do not sell as well as new skin chromas (even old skin chromas are a tier below). More of the old chromas have gone through BE sales and have been on the market longer, thus over time more people obtain them. Currently, there are no plans to update naming. We generally look at Champ updates as an opportunity to re-think about chromas we are updating. We have received the feedbacks and will consider it when opportunity arises. We have one Riot artist who owns all of Chromas and now since Fizz, Prestige, thus prioritization is super crucial. Some people gave us the feedbacks that they actually really love the fact old chromas have names that show up on loading screen. Would I find a great solution and update all old chromas and make chroma packs for every champ base/skin if that was possible? :P yes, I would. Is it possible currently? Old Chroma Naming Conventions- These are a different line of products directed at a different purpose. though both called chromas, old base skin chromas were aimed at making cheap customization for players that may not want to invest in a full skin. This was not received well. New chromas are a more premium product aimed to provide more options for your favorite skin. To separate the product lines, their naming will remain different. Loading Screen indicators - We have explored this previously, however, the loading screen was in the process of getting an update. Thus, we deferred it till the new loading screen is defined. Chroma is a small part of the loading screen experience and we wouldn't want to push the Loading Screen team to tackle this first before more important Loading Screen features. Is isn't to say that we will not do it in the near future :)

Trust me, I love the cherry blossom Sivir chroma, so I’m not completely offended but it just seems a little odd. Would love to hear the reasoning!

Would love to hear the reasoning! When chromas first launched, they were supposed to be a cheap way for players to customize. However, we quickly realized no one want a cheap product. When the new chroma team took on the challenge, we changed directions towards giving personalization options to players for already well loved thematics etc. The idea is that if someone gets tired playing Bloodmoon Sivir, but love the skin, they can have a bit more variety game to game. Thus, we approached thematic with a bit more variation, color options, personality etc. Generally we try our best to stay true to the base theme, but we do understand some pushes on the boundaries of thematics. Which is why we have been hesitant to explore color based skins (ex: Bloodmoon, Project, Starguardians etc). This is also why we are hesitant to touch legendary skins as well. We do not want these to be canon in the thematic universe but rather just customization option.

: Great job on the chromas! My only issue is with the pearl Camille chroma. It kinda looks like her skin is brown? On all the other chromas, her face matches her shoulders and chest area, but the pearl looks a tad awkward.
We do not touch skin colors at all for Chromas. So it might be because of the white dress making her look darker.
: Hi, huge fan of the new skins Coven skins, this bad witches vibe is really great but i have some suggestions to even improve them a little more. First of all Lissandra: Watching the Splash Art the White Horns have a divine glow feel, this should definitely get to the base skin and the chromas, which means: -Base skin should have less of this slight white pink feel and get more of a white blue glow . also in the splash art the skin has 2 base colors, white and purple, not a third mix color in between them. So i think the gloves should get some adjustments (either go white like in splash art or head to the purple dress color). Coven Lissandra (Tanzanite), Coven Lissandra (Meteorite), Coven Lissandra (Aquamarine) and Coven Lissandra (Sandstone) are perfect. Coven Lissandra (Obsidian) is really good as well, but i think darker or even black hair could suit her really good on this one, it would make a great contrast with the gold parts. Coven Lissandra (Rose Quartz) ... uff well i try not to judge even though i don't like this color scheme at all for this skin series: The neck part of the dress is very bad made, it looks like a texture patch filling a not finished area in the model, but i discovered something that I find very awesome but its barely noticeable. **The green parts at the head, these details look awesome but the skin should have way more**. That would really improve that chroma a lot. Coven Lissandra (Ruby) it´s not bad but i'd prefer a darker read like the horns of the meteorite ones. Now Camille: Again great skin concept but the splash art looks way nicer than the skin really is. In the splash art the dress has very dark red parts... ingame it looks sad... its just like simple leather. And that's because you need a very high zoom to even appreciate the real color (people usually don't play 400% zoomed in). Her chromas are REALLY good. I like all of them. My idea would be using the dark line on the shoulder of the Coven Camille (Turquoise) skin on the Coven Camille (Obsidian) too because the gold is way too much on the Obsidian one and this black line would reduce it a lot. Also the chest of part of the obsidian chroma should get some details to not make it flat brown, like the base skin. To end the post it like to say, it would be really nice to have Coven Syndra, Zyra and Annie. I hope i didn't write too much. Keep it up Riot, most of the recent skins are really good work!!!

Overall chroma feedback (applies to all): Could you please make the "metal embroidery" in her bladelegs stand out a bit more? It would look a lot nicer and since camille's entire identity is based around her bladelegs alone it was something i've really missed on the base skin. Maybe a bit more shine on the highlights of the metals or something? with a bit more defined shadows to make the bladelegs pop a bit further? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- **Tanzanite**: I absolutely love the nude illusion that's being created however could the color on the legs be a tad lighter/more fitting to her actual skintone? I've seen the accents of the teal/blue to be added in her other gems of the model and in general to break it down a bit so it doesn't blend together, but could we please do something about a subtle color/hue change of the hair? I think if you absolutely *have* to go with the purple hair making it a darker purple would make it be so much nicer to look at.

A mild suggestion though, as the ruby chromas will be bundle exclusive, could you maybe spicy them up with a slight visual change maybe, so they can feel more unique, separating them slightly from the rest of the bundle chromas for the sake of the exclusivity? I understand that no major changes can be applied, as they are just chroma variations, but still judging from the latest amazing pool party chroma packs, maybe something can be done :) Thank you again for the quality work!
This is an idea we have toiled with. I'm actually still a bit unsure myself. The thought here is not to make bundle exclusives too "special". I know I would be sad if the super special one is locked away :( However, we also want to carve out a space for ones that enjoy "exclusive" content. I quite enjoy having my red Lux and knowing others can identify right away that she is special. This is also why we are moving towards the direction of having a set color being the special one. This is personal 2 cents on this. Haha. On the team side, we are experimenting with different ways to bundle and satisfy both need for having variety and having "special" content.

The chromas are also very nice, but the one thing thats bugs me is that the colours of her vfx arent changed. I know they are just chromas, but having a dark red chroma with blue partickes just looks weird. : Hiya, skins are nice as always but somehow chromas for ashe are lacking... (tbh just in general with this skinline chroma release) They're all just so similar in vibrance and the fact so much is going on that it almost looks tacky for the lack of a better word. Power rangers is the first thing that pops into mind (and I don't mean it to be negative just giving a reference) Could we please get a more neutral chroma that isn't so much in your face with the vibrance and colors? The skin itself is really nice but kinda rough on the eyes with the chromas,hence why a pearl version would be lovely to have!
Hey there! I think the shots for these are a bit glow heavy because we touched up the ambient glow for the cosmic skin lines this time. Generally, we do not touch VFX on the chroma team because we do not have the capability to (small scrappy team with just 1 artist). Because the ambient glow on these skins are very blue, our options were quite limited (think bildgewater Diana), our artist decided to step up and learn how to modify VFX glows. This is completely new territory for the Chroma team, thus we were super stoked to see it work! We were so excited that we decided to take the screenshot at the moment where the glow is the heaviest XD This is why Ashe in the screenshots kinda look like neon lights. Have a good in game and let me know if they are still too brightly colored. In terms of pearl, for Ashe the major color read is Ashe's cape. Making that white is possible. However, because of the ambient glow's dominance in this skinline, it will end up looking like the washed out version of what the glow color is. Sorry :( don't think a white one is possible for this line. We will def keep this in mind for future Ashe chromas to try provide some neutral options too!
: Hello there, Asol main and moderator for the Sol Discord. In a previous post about the base Mecha Sol most agreed that it was very underwhelming and didn't hit the mark for what we wanted from a Sol skin given his majestic, regal and almost imposing nature. However after seeing the available Chroma that are on offer I do believe that they fix most of the issues that people had with the skin. The base was dark and almost sickly to look at, you couldn't really make out his face and it almost hurt the eyes with how dull the tones were. Yet the Chroma are bright and eye-catching, they pop out on the screen and make him look and feel better as a whole. (Personal favourite is pearl.) It is just sad and disappointing that you went with such a boring colour as base, then give us these fantastic Chroma to alleviate the issues we feel were plaguing it. Overall I am very pleased with the Chroma and look forward to seeing what tweaks you bring to them.

: We actually had a lot more colors during our concept phase, but they were very weak generally, so we ended up cutting a handful of them, we can possibly try to re-visit this in the future to add more colors
Add a little to this: Alot of the concepts had different color, however, currently chromas have no VFX changes. Thus, with the super red VFX these were the only ones that pass the quality bar.

It takes away the champion personality and the intention of the original skin And I certainly don't want to fulfill the "sniper cop in bikini suit... with pink hair", I' playing Caitlyn and I find the skin fun, and I agree that changes for hair color and so are ok IF and only IF they match the fantasy for that skin, example: Star Guardian skins. Doing textures for cromas takes away some time you could invest into making Akali's hair different for her different skins... or even to apply new technology when you rework a champ (yes, I remember Aviator Irelia with the blue wig, instead of a floating hair like Zoe's/Kayn's ponytail).
Understand the concern! Chroma team tries to adhere to the original thematic of a skin but also provide some customization options for players! Def let us know if there are colors and designs that you feel do not fit with the original thematic! Our tiny lil team is learning and growing, but currently our only scope is Chromas. We hope we will be able to help the skins team on skins soon, however, currently we do not have that capability :( This is the reason why Chroma's scope only incorporates textures with no Geo, VFX, Animation etc changes (tbh, we only have 1 artist on our team :P) The good news for you is: Don't worry we are not taking capacity away from skins team. We definitely hope to grow faster through working with Chromas and eventually be able to take on larger scoped projects!

Currently, we are not making VFX changes for chromas :( We just wanted to provide some options for customization in terms of chromas. Some people prefer stripes and some prefer no stripe. This way you can chose what you like!

Yes stats for the same server! As stats is focused on you and your learning. Other servers sometimes have different play styles and metas that will not pertain as much. We have thought about possibility of sharing experts across different regions. However, for now there are no plans to do this. Ya! Heavy roamers are harder to predict. But with the new algorithm this should be greatly improved before live!
: I have not tried out this feature on the PBE (since I have not played any games on the PBE). Personally I think it sounds like a feature set that would be best left to third parties. I know that several web sites out there are doing this type of stuff (or have failed trying it). Some high level info on performance is probably a solid idea (champs played, win rate, kda, games played, etc.). On a different note, one thing that I do wish was in the client was features for tracking down games for specific champions. Say I want to spectate some games of high elo Nidalee players, what options do I have? I have to jump around to different sites looking for "top" players of Nidalee, maybe if they have a recorded game I can download a batch file that might work, and if they are in my region I can hope the game was in the player's last 20 games so I can spectate it in client. I would picture an interface that is pretty much exactly like the existing Recent Games interface (a list of games that shows the high level stats, with the ability to drill down to see match details). The difference is that rather than just showing games for one particular summoner I could search by Champion and Elo (with maybe other options like Queue, Map, Lane, Win/Loss, etc.).
I agree! I think 3rd party with work dedicated to stats would be able to put more engergy into better analysis etc. However, most of the 3rd parties do not have the hardware needed to aggregate this large amount of data. Thus, we made it important part of Stats to open public APIs. I think I'm more excited to see what some of the community will come up with than just the stats tab. Big part of stats is actually not what you see on the client, but on the tech side :) I completely agree to this as well. Personally I learn by watching. It is actually the reason we wanted to do experts list within stats, so that players have some people on their server to look at for guidance. We thought maybe opening replays for everyone would be a good idea, but replays cannot be played after new patch comes out. So there are some challenges involved. Hopefully after we ship stats to live we can revisit these problems to see if there other approaches. Right now we are still trying to figure out the tech for all regions for live.
: I posted this on the discord but I'll post here as well. First one already discussed, is lane assignment. I was assigned bottom, swapped with the support, so I played thresh, the game still counted as an adc game. You said it's hard to differentiate what lane you play what champ, but the difference between support and adc is too big in my opinion to be hard to differentiate (compared to brand being played bottom or mid, so I assume that will easily be fixed) https://i.imgur.com/vCP75RW.png Also a bug when I compared my games with a friend of mine, the damage share percentage is through the roof: https://i.imgur.com/8Foq2Q8.png Doesn't happen for all of the stats, only on the selected options in the screenshot (as far as my tries have gone). We are working on a solution for lane detection. Hopefully that will minimize some of inaccuracies with lane assignments due to swapping etc. Yikes! That is def a bug. We will have a look into it. Ps. How many triforce did you buy to get that number :P?

: Do you think it would be possible for it to displace your other items when you buy a preferred item? EDIT: Looks like it was just a feature(?) that made it other active items are not displaced. It seems to me like someone is unlikely to go through the work of setting this up to not want to have displacement always. In a somewhat similar vein, would it be possible for switching to an item set with Preferred Slots(TM) automatically order the items that you have? Because of the size of my screen along with changing nature of items and champs (over time and also as I learn more about them), I usually don't find it super useful to make item sets. That being said, I always put my {{item:3157}} /{{item:3814}} on "T", and my {{item:3146}}/ {{item:3140}} on "space." Ideally I could have one or two item sets with my Preferred Slots, and switch to them whenever I wanted my items ordered. As it is on PBE I probably won't use the feature, but I likely would
You are right that we actively thought about this and have decided on the the option that would do the least harm when you are in a tense game. I know as a support main, I sometimes switch item slots in middle of a game due to current situation. I would be heartbroken if I forgot about my item set page in middle of a rank game and things gotten switched around. That being said, because this is the less aggressive option, what you can do for your specific case is to make 1 item set for all your champions with those items on T and Space. These items will go to those slots directly.
: It automatically moves items to certain slots when you buy them. Always have Zhonya's on 3? Want to always make sure pots are always on 2? You can set your preference in your item build and it will move it there, or to any other slot, when you buy it.

How is the best way to leave feedback on these kind of changes for chromas?
It can be if there is enough time/bandwidth permitting. The Chroma teams is small and scrappy, we have to prioritize wisely in order to get more quality Chromas with more skin variety to Players. To ensure the quality of each Chroma, we concept out the Chroma, make the textures, integrated to the game and QA for every change/Chroma color. This is when we make the tough call to make changes or not, because though we truly do want to seize the opportunity, it may mean we have to cut out certain Chroma sets. But don't be discouraged! We look at every feedback and take them with us along our journey with Chromas! We will definitely look more closely at details and provide variations for them. To be honest, we don't have much of a formula yet and we are discovering new ways to play around with the designs every single day :)
: For the short time I had to test them before the PBE went down for maintenance, I noticed that the Dino Gnar chromas still used the same boomerang for autoattacks as base, despite the main model getting a different texture. Is this something that can easily be changed so that the autoattack particles match the model textures, or is this firmly out of scope (Which is fine it's out of scope). I didn't get time to test out all of the Gnar Chromas, though when the PBE comes back up I'll take a closer look at them! Either way, I have every intention of getting at least one of these chromas when they go live!
