Stuck in what's called a "Ghost Game" where the server went down for maintenance, booted everyone out, now the server is back up and running however it still thinks the game is going on and forcing me, and presumably the others that were in game with me, to connect to a game that doesn't exist (Thus getting the black screen of death). I tried deleting LeagueClient logs under PBE to see if that would fix it, it did not.
Just curious at this point to see if a "Fix" was ever found or if it's basically just a wait a certain length of time for the server to finally "kill" the game.
If anyone has any info please let me know, if not I'll post back after however long it takes for the issue to resolve itself so at least someone in the future has an idea of how long it'll take if ever stuck like this.
A Ghost game occurs when the message sent from the server that says "Hey the game is over, time to go to the next one" isn't received by the client. This then causes the client to still think you're connected to a game and will continue to try and connect you to said "Ghost Game" until whatever server magic happens to correct it.
The only fix I'm aware of is waiting ~~an unspecified amount of time~~ roughly up to 4 hours for the server to correct itself.
Who knows how much good it will do or if it's even worth Riot's time, but I sent a ticket into them to request a feature be added that would allow us to essentially click a button that would have the server resend the message telling the client to go to the next game.
